CHAPTER 1

                         THE FOUR   GUYS

It was June 2015, and some schools of different towns of the USA were invited to take a trip to Washington. Joe, Larry and Ally, students of the same school, wanted to go but they couldn’t because that month they had an award. Luckily, thanks to the award, they got some money so they could go there. Joe had a fair complexion, he had short, black, straight hair and green eyes. Larry was tall and slim, he had short, brown, wavy hair and his eyes were big and brown. He was Moroccan and he was 16 years old. Ally was quite tall and slim. She had long, blond, straight hair and green eyes. She was British.

Joe, Larry and Ally went to the underground station to go to Washington and here they met an English girl called Kate. Kate was tall, she had long, curly, brown hair and blue eyes. She worked in the underground but...looking at them she felt like going back to school, and she enrolled at the local school.

CHAPTER 2

THE FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL

In September they met at school. First the guys talked about their summer holidays but unfortunately the English teacher noticed them and she asked them to stop talking because they were too noisy!

The second period the teachers gave them three hours to write a text about different topics...After the text Kate saw some very interesting books and she talked about them with her friends.

Ally thought that one of the books was very beautiful. The title of the book was “The mystery of the London underground” and it told the story of a desert part of the underground where a scientist made his experiments. The guys started to ask the teachers for more information.

Only the English teacher Grace wanted to tell them more about the story.

“The story is real” she said.

“Wow! Please tell us something about that” Ally said.

“The scientist was only 17 when he started to read science books and he wanted to make some experiments”.

 “Why did he want to go and stay in the underground?“Larry asked

"Because he knew that place very well” the teacher answered.

"I want to go there" Joe said.

“No, you can’t go there” the teacher replied. “Okay, we won’t go there" Larry said puffing.

The teacher went out and the guys went out silently, too.

They went to the underground but unfortunately Shawn, a bad guy, went to tell Grace that the guys had gone out of hiding and the teacher was very angry.

In the meantime...

“We’ve arrived!” Kate said. Suddenly the guys heard a strange sound which ended immediately. The place was very creepy.

“Let’s explore this place!” Ally suggested. “Yeah, let’s do it” Joe said.

“Guys come! Now!” Larry and Kate said “What did you see?” Ally asked.

Larry and Kate saw a booth where a man was sleeping, the scientist.

“Hey, answer us, please!” Joe said.

In the meantime the guys saw Shawn.

“What are you doing here?” Larry asked.

“Teachers are coming, there will be troubles for you” said Shawn.

"Let's go away!” Kate said.

The guys were really worried and Shawn disappeared from their sight.

“Come on! Wake up!” Ally said to the scientist.

Suddenly the guys heard a noise, they realized that if they remained even for a few seconds it could be fatal.

“What happened?” the scientist asked.

“Let’s go away! It’s dangerous to stay here!” Joe said.

“Wait! Wait! I don’t leave my projects!” the scientist said.

“Come on! Take all his papers and get out!” Kate said.

“Shawn! What are you doing?” Larry said looking at Shawn.

“I want to destroy this place! I’ll make a short-circuit!” said Shawn.

The guys went out and took Shawn with them before the short-circuit.

Fortunately, the teachers were not angry, because the guys had saved people.

In the afternoon.

“Where is Shawn?” the scientist asked.

“With the teachers” Larry answered.

“We haven’t introduced, what’s your name?” Ally asked.

“I’m James” the scientist said.

“I’m Larry”.

“I’m Joe”.

“I’m Ally”

“And I’m Kate. We're pleased to meet you.

The guys began to talk to James.

“I wanted to make experiments but I wasn’t a social person, I didn’t like the people who judged me” James said.

“And you wanted to live alone” Larry and Joe added.

The English teacher entered the classroom.

“Guys, you must know something” Grace said.

“Grace is my sister.” James said.

“Wow!” Ally and Kate exclaimed.

They all burst out laughing at the surprised faces of Joe and Larry and the bell rang.

The guys went back home and when it was evening Larry sent a message to the guys:“I’m ready for the next adventure, and you?”.

What a first day at school!!!!

CHAPTER 3

SCHOOL LIFE

24 October 2016

Dear diary,

I am Kate and I am 16 years old, I am tall and I have blue eyes. I have long blond, curly hair. I love animals and my hobby is reading books. I usually wear a shirt with long sleeves, a black skirt and coloured glasses. I go to a High School whose name is John Green and here I have my best friends: Joe, Ally and Larry.

Joe plays rugby and he is the number 24, he is our Teddy! He is really fantastic!!!

Ally loves sport and parrots. She is British, she is very sweet.

And finally Larry. His eyes are big and brown, they are so deep!!!!. He usually wears t-shirt, sweatshirt, baggy jeans and a hat of a different colour every day. He is Moroccan and he plays football. We have been friends since we were children. Every day after school we go to the playground and spend our time together. We like talking together because we are very similar!!!

Dear diary,

I see Larry and he is very strange, he does not eat and he sleeps during

the lessons! Today the teacher asked him why he was not studying. I want to know what the problems are. Ally asked him: “Larry, did you study for the test?” And he answered in a rude way: “I do not know! Go away”. Now Ally is very angry with Larry. After the Maths lesson I and Joe heard the principal to speak with Larry: “Larry, you do not study and you sleep in the lessons, you are a disaster, and I can suspend you!”. It is incredible!! I am so sad for Larry, what can I do?

Dear diary

Joe and I heard Larry talking to the principal. The principal told him that if within a month his grades were not raised and he was not involved in the study, he had to call his parents.

He answered that being very poor he had to work and he did not have time to study. Joe, Ally and I want to help him.

Dear diary,

Joe, Ally and I are helping Larry to study. Larry had the maths test yesterday and I helped him to prepare for it!

Dear diary,

It is 3.35 p.m. Larry has been able to do the test and it was very good! He took an A. My friends and I are very happy for his ratings and the principal said that if he continues to work he will remain with us!! Fantastic!!!!!!

CHAPTER 4

THANKSGIVING DAY

All the four friends had relatives in Spain. It was November, just a few days before Thanksgiving, and their families decided to visit their relatives who lived in four different cities in Spain: Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid and Seville. Ally and her family went to Valencia and they looked for their relative but unluckily an old person told them:”Your relative isn’t here, he moved to Leicester some weeks ago”. Ally and her family were sad for that but they decided to go to England to see him. Joe landed in Madrid and Larry landed in Barcelona. Joe and his family went to their relatives’ house and they had a fantastic time together. They arrived in Madrid two days before Thanksgiving day. Larry and his family landed in Barcelona at 11:15 a.m..

They had booked a hotel so they had lunch in it. In the afternoon Larry visited the Camp Nou. It was a fantastic experience and the stadium was really super. Kate landed in Valencia at 5:00 p.m. and they immediately met her relatives. In the meantime Ally had flown to England and had found her relatives.

All the guys had met their relatives so they could go back to America and celebrate Thanksgiving in their country. At 10:00 a.m. all the guys were back to America. When they landed they decided to gather at Ally’s house and celebrate together. For dinner the four guys and their families ate the most common traditional dish: roasted turkey. They ate also corn bread, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. The food was delicious and they enjoyed all the time together.

 CHAPTER 5

  THE SCHOOL TRIP

Kate, Larry, Joe, Ally and their mates left America. They went to Rome, in Italy, on a school trip.

They were so happy and excited because it was the first time on a plane, but they were a bit sad because they missed their parents.

Joe was excited because he loved Rome and its monuments. For Joe, this wasn’t the first visit to Rome because, when he was 5, he spent a summer holiday in Italy with his parents .

Ally was sad because she missed her family too, mostly her dog Halissa. She had found Halissa in the park of the city, 2 years before. ..
