My earliest memories were in a little barn with my mother. It
seems to be too cold to go outside in the British country. I was just
a week old when that winter storm went by, boy my mother and
my owner’s were concerned about me. Eric was the teenage boy
that would come and put blanks on my little body and care for me.

Eric the boy would always tell me how beautiful and powerful I am
when, he sat down with me in the stable.
“You are a week old and I still don’t know what to call you.” Eric said
putting his hand on my head.
“You are a dark beautiful bay, and you have mostly thoroughbred in
you, but it seems like you have some type of draft horse in you. You
are going to be the best knight horse in the British Army, you crazy
little colt.”

Finally the storm passed, and Eric led me and my mother out of the
barn into a white, shining world. The yard was filled with trees, and
iced cover ponds, and hills to jump down from. Eric let go of me to be
on my own with my mother. I looked around as I trotted in the deeper
snow, I became excited and wanted to run and play. So I did!
“Okay little colt, time to feed you some warm food.” Eric told me as he
guided me back in the stable to eat hot feed. I was pretty happy about
the hot feed in the budget.
“Little guy I think I have the perfect name for you. Do you want to
hear it?” Eric asked me.
I neighed to him as I placed my noise out of the feed budget.
“Warrior. Like the sound of that don’t you. Well, I better get inside,
bye Warrior. “Eric explained

Two years have passed so quickly, and Eric has been training me how
to pull a cart, ride, have a saddle on, and so much more. I was a little
scared about the saddle going on my back the first time, but I didn’t
react too scarily toward Eric. I was becoming stronger and taller every
day, because Eric was working with me. Eric kept talking to me about
becoming a Knight for the British Army. I was not quite sure what Eric
was talking about, but soon Eric is going to take me to some
fairground, this weekend to see other horses. It’s Friday night and the
weekend is coming closer to see that fairground.
“Warrior are you ready to go to the fairgrounds?” Eric said excitedly.
“We are going to have a really fun time there. We might be able to do
some activity down there, but you are still a young horse for most of
this stuff Warrior. I know you will love what the horses do in these
races and fighting Knights and jousting.

Eric started grabbing brushes and his English saddle closer to me. The
morning has not even shown itself in the sky this morning. I am
pretty sure that Eric wanted to get up very early because the trip will
be awhile.
“Warrior I am just about to get that saddle on you, the trip is about
twenty to twenty five miles which is long. That is why I am putting a
lighter saddle on today, but I still have my supplies in my backpack. I
won’t ride you the whole time Warrior, because you are only three
years old.” Eric explained to me.
Eric walked toward the saddle and swung the saddle on my back has
gently as he could, and before I knew it we were walking out of the
barn. I looked back to my mother in the stable; she didn’t seem to
mind that I was leaving her for the day. Plus my mother will have
someone to care for her for the weekend.
Eric jumped on my back and we started to go on our great adventure
together.

It was getting close to morning because the sun started to show
through the mountains. Eric and I were getting closer to the town that
Eric works in. The place was mainly empty but there were some
horses tied up to the post outside the feed store.
“Hang on Warrior, I need to get some feed for you for the trip.” Eric
explained getting off my back.
“Don’t be sad crazy; I wanted to get the best feed for you for the trip.
I’ll be right back. “

Eric walked in the store, didn’t even bother to tie me up on the pull,
like the other horses; because he knew that I would stay anyway. I
looked at the other horses, one of them looked sad and weakened by
something, and the other one looked a little happier, but still sad. They
both looked at me, wondering why I was not running away. When Eric
came out of the feed store both horses understood that I was well
cared for horse, unlike them.
“All right Warrior let’s get a move on.”

We were back on the road again, but this time I wanted Eric to let me
trot a little. So I started to trot a little bit, and Eric didn’t seem to
mind it. The sun finally came out of the ground and heated my cold
body as we walked on the rocky road. Since the sun was out, Eric and
I were able to see miles and miles away from us. Plus we saw other
horses going the same direction.

“Warrior we are in the town that is doing the fairgrounds.” Eric
explained to me as we walked together.
So many people and horses all around us, I became a little frighten
from the weird noises, and different people walking all around me. Eric
finally decided that getting on me was a better idea, so that we both
could get out of the mob quicker.

Eric and I walked closer to a place where Eric could sleep for the night,
and a place where I could stay. The crowed was lower because
everyone was going to the Knight show, which Eric and I will see
shortly after he gets settled.
I looked all around me, while I was waiting for Eric. Big, tall horses
walked passed me with knight armor on them. They both looked so
hero like with the armor on. The riders had armor and a huge stick
that was carried in the arm of the rider. I was not sure what the armor
and the stick was for, but the horses and the riders looked really
amazing.
