The mist faded. A young black cat with violet eyes walks around confused about where she was. Night. That was all she could think about. Why Night? Oh yes! Night was her name! She looked around. Then as soon as she looked to her left, memories about her old life came pouring in. Anemy. The Pack. Everyone else. The monster. Her death. So now I’m dead. Because of a lie. How stupid, she thought.
“Ooohhh. Night.,” a voice says in the dark shadows.
“Come out and fight me! Or are you scared?!”, Night angrily challenged as she looked around.
“You never knew who you really were”, the voice whispered.
“I know who I am! I’m Night the leader of the Pack!"
“That’s who you think you are.”
Night angrily shook her head in frustration. “Then who am I?”, Night grew more impatient every second passed. The voice never responded. “Who am I?!”, repeated Night impatiently.
“You are the Lost Goddess of the Night Sky”, The voice finally responds.
“ I-I’m a Goddess?! Nah!”, exclaims Night in surprise. A cat then walks out of the shadows. “Mom! I missed you so much!”
“I did too. I hope your life as a Goddess wasn’t too harsh on you. Every God or Goddess ends up having a terrible life. We still don’t know why.”
The black and white-patched cat looks around. “Mom?”, asked Night in confusion. Night’s mother shakes head sadly. “I’m sorry, Night. I’ve got to go now. I hope you enjoy the next visit you get. It’s from Earth-Cat.”
Night’s mother’s voice slowly fades with her image. “Mom! No! Wait!”, Night exclaims with horror as blood appears all over the faint image of her mother left. That’s how she looked when she was murdered. By a Dark Heart Cat. “Mom I’m dead What do I do with Earth-Cat?”, Night asks herself. Night slowly walks towards a glowing light where she assumed Earth-Cat was.
~~~~~
Night slowly blinks her eyes open. “Ugh”, moans Night, as she forces herself upwards with a lot of strength. Every step she took felt like some invisible cat was clawing her with a badger. Plus, she was weakened by her lack of strength. Then, she saw something that made her keep on going. A bright light that looked as bright as the sun. She forced her was towards it. “I knew she could do it!”, a voice that Night recognized as soon as she heard it.
“Sunrise? Is that you?”, Night meows in excitement to see if it was her younger brother that died the same way as her parents. “Night! It’s been so long!”, a ginger-orange tom with red eyes leaped out to reunite with his long-lost sister. “I told Earth-Cat that you would make it through the trap that no cat passed before! I proved her wrong! Ha!”, Sunrise exclaims happily.
“Then what are you doing here? This is where the cats go with Earth-Cat after they pass the test right? Did you pass the test? I thought you said no other cat passed! You passed I bet!”, Night meows.
“Yes, I passed. But anyways follow me! We’re going to see Earth-Cat! She has something for you!”, Sunrise leaps up and runs towards the ‘bright’ shadows.
“Coming!”, Night leaps up to follow Sunrise.
“Wait You have to follow me, not him he’s a fake. A trap.”, a deep, hissing voice came from behind her. Night doesn’t turn around to see who said it. But instead she leaps and completely ignores that cat. I know that that cat would be the trap. My brother wouldn’t lie. Unless , oh well. I trust him. If I turned around, he would have grabbed me and yeah
“Well, well, well She’s certainly something. She just ignored my assistant who would have dragged her away Night, you’re going to be mine soon. One day But it’s going to happen. I’m sure of it.”, laughed a black shadow watching Night leap to follow Sunrise.
“Night! You made it! I was scared for a second that he came back for you.”, yowls Sunrise.
“Huh? Oh! I got distracted by one of the traps.”, replied Night, grinning. “He told me to follow him instead.”
“What do you mean? There are no more traps. Oh...no Good thing you ignored him.”, sighed Sunrise with relief.
“What do you mean ‘oh no?’ If there’s something wrong you can tell me. It’s not like I can do much here these days”, mews Night, confused.
“Well, you see There’s a stalker from Dark Heart He likes to take ‘new’ recruits and bring them back to life. If the catch you then Well you get the point.”, explained Sunrise.
“Oh I see Well can’t you do guys do anything about this?!”, asked Night, rolling her eyes. “I mean, you guys are with Earth-Cat!”
“True, but over the seasons, Dark Heart has grown more powerful than even Earth-Cat herself! Please don’t tell anyone that. Cats will end up panicking and Dark Heart will grow stronger and more confident. Only the Gods and Goddess’ can destroy Dark Heart for good.”, replied Sunrise sadly.
“But-that’s impossible! Nothing can be stronger that Earth-Cat!”, exclaimed Night, astonished.
“I thought so too. But, we were wrong. Dark Heart is growing stronger right now. And you are the one to stop them.”, murmured Sunrise.
“M-me?! No way!”, exclaims Night, shaking her head.
“Yes, that’s why we’re going to bring you back to life. To stop Dark Heart.”, explained Sunrise.
“WHAT?!?!?! No way! I’m getting a second chance in life?!?!?!?”, yowls Night.
“Ya. So you can train your Pack for excellent fighting, because you’re going to have to defeat Dark Heart.”, nods Sunrise.
“I’ll make Snarl pay for that dirty lie of his!”, mutters Night, grinning evilly.
“Uh Night? Your stupid is showing”, laughs Sunrise.
“Why you little! GET BACK HERE!!!!!!!!!”, shrieks Night at a cackling Sunrise. “Umm you're stupid is showing more than mine”, Night giggles as she stops chasing her brother, and slows down.
“Well, we got off topic.”, says Sunrise shaking his head, watching Night walk around.
“Not just off topic, but way off topic.” agreed a tabby cat.
“Wha-? You’re not-”, choked Sunrise as claws flashed out as fast as lighting, one paw tearing his stomach, and another ripping his throat. “Well, you’re not coming back for all I know.”, purrs the tabby, leaping to check on his cats back at Dark Heart.
“Huh? Sunrise!!!!!”, shrieked Night, rushing to her dying brother’s side. “No noo Not you Why you..?”
“Night. I’m sorry. But that was Sunrise’s destiny.”, a soothing voice came from the shadows, a white cat with silver stars and light-blue eyes, padded out.
