Jesus Appears to The Women at the Tomb

Jesus resurrected from the dead on the first day of the week, which we call th Sabbath Day. Mary Magdalene and the mother of Jesus visited Jesus' tomb. They arrived after he had already risen from the dead. An angel told them not to be afraid that his body isnt there because Jesus has risen. He sent them to Galilee to meet up with Jesus. As they proceeded , Jesus met up with them and told them to go and tell his disciples that he has risen and to meet him in Galilee.

* "Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified."

* Purpose: To spread the news that Jesus rose from the dead.

Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

Mary was outside of Jesus' tomb weeping that his body was gone. She saw two angels in the tomb and they asked her why is she crying. Mary told them that Jesus' body was taken away and she doesn't know where it was placed. After she answered them, she turned around and Jesus was standing there. Mary didn't know it was him and thought he was a gardener. Jesus then said to her, "Mary" and she realized it was him and got excited. He told her to tell his brothers that he will be going to their God. Mary went and shared his news to the disciples.

* "I am going to my father and your father, to my God and your God."

* Purpose: Mary Magdalene was sent to Jesus' disciples to announce that he's going to God.

Jesus Appears to The Apostles- 1st time

On the evening of the day Jesus rose from the dead, he appeared to his disciples. Jesus appeared and stood in the midst of the disciples. He said to them, "Peace be with you". The disciples were amazed and believed that they were seeing a ghost. He told them to touch his hands and feet to believe that it's him. Jesus asked if they have anything to eat and as they were amazed, they gave him baked fish and Jesus ate it. Then, Jesus said to them that everything written about him will be fulfilled. Jesus was helping them understand the scriptures. Jesus sent the promise of his Father to them and for them to stay where they are until they receive power from heaven.

* "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."

* Purpose: Disciples to believe that Jesus rose as the scriptures says and they will be fulfilled with power.

Jesus Appears to The Apostles- 2nd time

Thomas, called Didymus, is one of Jesus' twelve disciples who wasn't present wen Jesus appeared to the others. A week after the first appearance, all of the disciples including Thomas was in the house. Jesus entered and told them, "Peace be with you". Then, he told Thomas to touch his hands and feet to believe that it's really Jesus standing there speaking to them. Thomas then believed that it was Jesus, his Lord. Jesus told him that he only believes because he has seen him and to bless those who believe without seeing him yet.

*" Stop doubting and believe."

*Purpose: For Thomas to believe the news of Jesus without seeing him physically and to understand that he's alive.
