Machine Gun
World War 1 was seen as the first use of the machine gun. Although it broke easily and had to be cooled down often, the machine gun was worth about as much as 60-80 rifles if used correctly, and gave the Germans a huge advantage in the war.
Poison Gas
Poison gas was another weapon that first appeared in World War 1. Due to the use of trench warfare, poison gas was highly effective in taking out the enemy, so long as the enemy didn't have a gas mask.
Tanks
Tanks are another weapon that popped up in World War 1. They were the equivalent of putting a cannon on top of a car, providing mobility for such powerful weapons. Tanks have increased the overall power of militaries all over the world, leading to more all-out wars in the future.

The Zimmermann Telegram
The Zimmermann Telegram was a telegram sent from Germany to Mexico, asking for Mexico's assistance in the war efforts. In return, Germany offered territory from the United States. This telegram is so important because it forced the United States, previously isolated, to join the war against Germany.

The Christmas gift is what I chose to represent the Christmas Truce of 1914. I chose this because the gifts given by the government raised the spirits of the troops, leading them to take a break on Christmas Day. It also represents the gift of truce that happened on that one day in the war.
Battle of the Somme - Left the highest number of British casualties in the war
Battle of Ypres - It was the turning point of the war
Battle of Megiddo - Beginning of the end of the Palestinian offensive
I believe that the sinking of the Lusitania may have been the result of illegal transport of weaponry. This can be proved by the unexplained second explosion after the missile hit it. Also, why would the Germans attack a ship that is transporting only people? It doesn't make sense unless you take into consideration possible weaponry.
