“Sure, Luna honeybee, what is the question?”

“Well Luna kitten, not everyone has a home. Not everyone has a nice warm bed to sleep in or toys to play with”

“I seen a little girl and her mommy sleeping on the streets today but shouldn’t they have a nice home like we do?”

 “I don’t understand mommy “

“Well Luna bear, when you go to school, daddy and I go to work. When people work, they make money to buy things that grownups and little kids need.”

“Is it like when you bought me a butterfly dress for my birthday party?”

“Yes Luna butterfly, but sometimes mommies don’t make enough money to buy butterfly dresses”

“I don’t get it mommy. If a mommy works then she always has money to buy things, right?”

“Sometimes it is hard for a mommy to buy a nice home, pretty clothes, a nice warm bed, toys and yummy fruits and vegetables”

“Vegetables are YUCKY!”

“Luna bumblebee, you are so funny but vegetables keep us nice and strong and help you grow nice and tall. Some mommies buy all those things and still can’t buy a home for their kids so sometimes they end up living on the streets.”

“Mommy that makes me very sad”

“It makes me very sad too, Luna ladybug. They don’t want to be on streets but sometimes they have no other choice. There are not enough places they can go to get help, but sometimes the little help they do get is not always enough.”
