Once upon a time in Johannesberg, South Africa, there were three students who each wanted to create new things to make the world a better place. Their names were Mikey, Jonny, and Nicky. Although they all had the same objectives, they did not meet until they went to University...

Finally, all three met in the UK and became best friends. They realized they all had the same goals and could each bring a different strength: Mikey was ready to lead a team, Jonny had the vision to make a new product, and Nicky had the skills to create it. They were determined that they were going to create a tool that would change the world.

The three best friends wanted to move to America to create their company. In 2013, they decided to start DroneDeploy in San Francisco, California. They had a dream of making drones a technology that everyone could use, regardless of their background. They knew what they wanted to create, but there was one problem: they didn't have the money to start.

Thankfully, in the nick of time, the magical Angel Investors appeared from the sky. They were ready to give the three best friends the money they needed to start DroneDeploy.

The three best friends created a drone and software bundle called Co-pilot. They hoped that this drone would make it easier for farmers to visualize their fields. However, it became very difficult to make both a drone and the software. They realized that they would only be able to change the world if they focused their effort into one product and made it the best in the world.

They stopped producing Co-pilot and instead, focused on building the DroneDeploy we have today. DroneDeploy is a software program that allows anyone to fly and drone and make a map.

Their idea was made up of 3 important pieces: flight, processing, and analyzing. The DroneDeploy software allows a drone to fly and take pictures on its own - without the direction of a pilot.

Then, the software takes the pictures and puts them together into an accurate map, similar to putting pieces together in a puzzle. These accurate maps can be used to save time and money in many industries.
