At long last, Saturday has arrived. All the counting of mornings and evenings is over, thought Mum. “Tristen! Tiffany!” she shouted. “Guess what time it is!” “Is it party time, Mum?” Tiffany asked with excitement in her voice. “Yes, indeed it is, my princess. Go and wake up your sister and tell her that we need to get ready.”
The pitter-patter of her feet running down the hallway could be heard from miles away.
“Tristen, wake up. It’s Saturday today, wake up,” she said. “What is it, Tiffany? ”Tristen grumbled. “The Princess party is today! ”They both jumped up and down with joy and quickly went off to plan their outfits. “I am wearing a long dress with high-heels and a diamond crown, "said Tiffany.“I also had the same idea in mind,” replied Tristen, “and we can ask Mum to make our cheeks rosy with some blush.”
“You both look so amazing,” cried Mum. “I couldn't have made you look any more beautiful.”
“Oh yes you can, Mum. Just a little make-up if you don't mind,” said Tristen.
And so they were all ready to go, dazzling from their tippy toes to the shimmer on their diamond embedded crowns. Hair full of cute curls and pretty rosy cheeks, with matching lips to give them that true fairy-tale look...
“Let’s go, girls. It’s party time.”
At the party, everyone looked at Tristen and Tiffany with amazement in their eyes. Someone said, "Are they celebrities from that show on TV?”
Dad, who was helping set up the party, laughed and said, “Why, of course yes. You bet they are, they are my Princess celebrities.”
Their eyes twinkled with pride and joy.
The girls danced and laughed and took part in all the activities, but their favorite thing of all was the horse rides.
The horse had a shiny white coat with rainbow-coloured hair and a pink saddle. They paraded around the party tents, waving at everyone, and had their pictures taken too.
The guests looked at the girls as they passed by.
Dad made them feel so special, everyone wanted their autographs and it was only their pleasure.
A lady came to meet and greet our family and she said,
“Excuse me, I hope you don't mind me asking. Can you please come and see me at my modelling agency?
I would like to sign your children to become models for a famous clothing line.”
“Wow! Most certainly,” said Mum.
Their friends were so happy to have them at the party. The girls received the prize for best dressed and won the singing competition, too.
There was a Candy cart that was filled with chocolates, sweets, bubble-gum and any treat you could possibly imagine. The children took anything they wanted to have, and they could even fill their own bags. This party was the best one they had ever been to.
The girls ate so many sweets that Tiffany's tooth began to ache, although they still had plenty candy to take home. They were so tired and worn out from all the fun they’d had. Mum decided to call it a day and they all went home.
“Good, clean and fresh...It’s late, girls,” Mum said. “Just enough time to eat and off to bed you go.” “My tooth is too sore to eat, Mummy. I want to go sleep,” said Tiffany. “Okay, my princess. I hope you feel better in the morning,” replied Mum.
And so off she went to bed.
Tristen went to sleep with Tiffany and she could hear her sister mumble in her sleep. She must be dreaming; I hope it’s a good dream, she thought. But Tristen just could not fall asleep. She was tossing and turning in the bed from all the sugar she had eaten and no matter what she did, she just stayed awake.
