GENERAL INFORMATIONAtoms are made up of particles called
protons,electrons, and neutrons.
Protons and neutrons are located inside
the nucleus. Electrons are located
outside the nucleus. They are not the
same distance from the nucleus
because there are different layers of
rings.

The electrons are mainly involved in
chemical reactions and nuclear
reactions release large amounts of
energy. All atoms do not have the same
number of protons and you can see how
many they have by looking at the
periodic table. Protons and Neutrons are
the same as the atomic number and
electrons are calculated by subtracting
atomic mass by the atomic number.

The name of my element is
Fermium. Its atomic number is
100, and its atomic symbol is
Fm. Fermium has an atomic
mass of 257 g and is in the
Actinoid group in the periodic
table of elements.

Fermium was discovered by G.R.
Choppin, S.G. Thompson, A.
Ghiorso and B.G. Harvey in 1952.
The place where it was discovered
was Berkeley, California in the
United States of America. It was
named after the scientist Enrico
Fermi.

This element is solid at 298 AMU
and is classified as a metallic
element. Its appearance is
probably silvery white or grey.
The only hazard this element has
is that its radioactive, but does
not harm the environment or
humans. It does not affect your
health or environment.
