Once upon a time there was a miller who was very poor, but he had a bautiful daughter. One day, the king ordered to call all the men of the kingdom for a special dinner in his castle.

The miller went and talked with the king, and in order to make himself appear important he said. "I have a daughter who can spin straw into gold".

The king said "If your daughter is as clever as you say, bring her tomorrow to my castle and I will put her to a test".

The next day, the girl was brought to the king, he took her into a room which had a spinning-wheel and a reel, he said "You have to spin straw into gold for tomorrow, if you don't do it, your father will die and you will stay here alone".

The king went out of the room and she began to cry because his father lied to the king. She can't spin straw into gold.

"And now what must I do?" She said.

The door opened and a small goblin entered, he said "Good evening, beautiful girl, why you're crying?". The girl answered "I have to spin straw into gold and I don't know how to do it".

"What will you give me if I do it for you?" said the goblin.

"My necklace" said the girl.

"Deal" said the goblin. He took the necklace and began to spin straw into gold all night.

The next morning, the king woke-up and saw the straw spun into gold. He said "You have to spin straw into gold again. If you don't do it, your father will die and you will stay here alone".

The king went out and she cried. The door opened again and the small goblin appeared, and said. "What will you give me if I do it for you?". The girl said "The ring on my finger".

"Deal". The goblin took the ring and began to spin straw into gold all night.

The next day, the king saw the gold again and said "You have to spin straw into gold again and, when you've finished, you shall be my wife". He thought that he could not find a wife who spins straw into gold.

When the girl was alone, the goblin came again for third time and said "What will you give me if I do it for you?". The girl said "I have nothing".

"Then, promise me, if you turn into queen, you have to give me your first child" said the goblin.
