Hello, my name is Amelia. Every day when I come to school I sit down at my desk and read what Miss Hannah, my Kindergarten teacher, wrote on the chalkboard. Today the chalkboard said, "Welcome Class: Today is Friday,
January 23rd. Monday is the 100th day of school!".
I could not believe it was already going to be the
100th day of school next week!

Welcome Class:
Today is Friday, January 23rd.
Monday is the
100th day of school!

Miss Hannah announced that for the 100th day of school each student would need to bring 100 of something to school. She said we could bring things like 100 pieces of cereal, 100 buttons, or even 100 baseball cards. She said
baseball cards because Trey asked her a thousand
times if he could bring his collection to show us.
So, I went home that night and asked my mom what
I should bring.

Welcome Class:
Today is Friday, January 23rd.
Monday is the
100th day of school!

Can I bring my baseball card collection?!?!

100 Balloons?!

I ran inside and told my mom that I need to bring 100
things to school on Monday for our 100th day of school.
She asked me, "What do you want to take?". I thought and said, "Maybe there is some food I can find in the kitchen".

My mom and I went to look in the kitchen for other options of things to bring. She pulled out a bag of grapes from the refrigerator and said, "Let's count how many grapes we have."

My mom and I counted 20 grapes. "That's not 100 things!" I said. "We'll look for something in your room to take.", my mom said.

"Do you see anything that there might be 100 of?", my mom asked. "No. Wait, how about I bring 100 books to school?!". My mom didn't like that idea either."Amelia, I think that might be too heavy. Let's look for something smaller."
"I have a marble game in my closet! Maybe there's 100 marbles in it!". "Okay, Amelia. Let's find the game and count them!" I found the game and dumped all the marbles out on the floor.
