"BLACKIE the Turtle"

A sea turtle is born ... She is different from others ... Her life changes when she teaches other sea turtles team work is important to be safe and have a better time with friends.
Second and third graders enjoyed themselves writing and illustrating this story as part of a school project. They were inspired by "Swimmy" by Leo Lioni and his wonderful "stamping" techniques and by the song "Keep the Ocean Clean" by Birdsong and the Eco-Wonders.
