I am a Golem, made of clay and stone.
I live in the forest, I live here alone.
Ever since the day, my master sent me away.
I didn’t mind too much, I’m doing okay.

I have a garden with me, here amongst the trees.
This is where I live, with the bugs and the bees.
The flowers that I keep, The Birds like them so.
They drink at their nectar, my flowers help them grow.

But every year, it all comes to an end
the cold creeps in, creeps into my den
The Bees die out, the birds have left.
My flowers are gone, I would like them back.

Please
The warm returns, with the bugs and the bees.
The bees made a home, in amongst the trees.
They help my flowers, make them grow strong.
They are wonderful creatures, working all day long.

There’s something new in my garden, a small girl with long hair.
She’s not scared of me, and takes every step with care.
She asks of the flowers, while she looks on awed.
Golems have no voice, so I give her a nod.

She asks if she can take one, for her own garden bed.
I pick her one, she thanks me for it, but I’m filled with dread.
I feel the cold coming, soon the winter will arrive,
I do not like the winter, it leaves nothing alive.

It will take my garden, my bees and the birds in tow;
I’ve accepted this, even the winter helps things grow.
But the Girl in my garden, she was good to me so
I ask of you winter please.

Don’t take the girl.

The winter is here, but I see the girl here her face red as roses.
She hold something strange, I haven’t a clue what it is.
She digs a small hole, it’s a flower she put in the ground
“It’s an Evergrow” she said “It will grow all year round.”

The warm is back, and the girl has a friend.
Her friend likes my garden, I’m glad, it’s hard work to tend.
I look to them, to watch them have fun.
The girl’s friend is scared of me, she screams and she runs.

Monster!!!

The Girl’s friend brought more people, Carrying steel and fire.
I do hope they’re careful, the garden isn’t good with fire.
They hit me with hammers, they removed some of my dents
I thank them with flowers, I’m sure that’s what they meant.

They threw their fire at me, but I was warm already.
I tried to hand it back, but my hands were unsteady.
The people run as my garden burns to ash.
I’ve become stuck to the ground, so I cannot act

But I will protect my Evergrow

My garden is nothing but ash, Except for my Evergrow.
I wish I could cry, But I cannot do so
But when the ash clears, I saw even the fire has good
It give the ground warmth, the sun never could.

New plants grew; they sprouted from the black
I knew that soon, my garden would be back.
The girl has returned, with no friend in tow.
Her eyes were leaking; she must be helping the garden grow.

I show her my garden, the plants that will grow.
She’s still watering the plants; this doesn’t need to be so.
I lift the girls head, gently with my stone hand.
There wasn’t a need for her to be sad.
