What is a flea?
The flea is an insect that belongs to the animalia kingdom, and is apart of the insecta class. Scientifically the flea is called a Siphonaptera. A flea is a flightless insect they live off mammals and birds consuming the blood of their host. Usually brown and 3 mm long.

What does a flea look like?
A flea has many body parts similar to you like: legs, head, and mouth.
But the flea can have very different body parts as well like an a
Antenna: which are thin long sensors on the fleas head.
Thorax: is a corresponding part of the flea. Birds, reptiles, and fish can have it too!
Claws: Pointy long nails they use to hold onto their host.

Types of the fleas.
Fleas can come in various variety the cat flea is the most common and can show up on dogs and cats. Humans fleas are rare but they do stick to the hairiest parts of the bodies. Fleas can also be inhabited in the water known as a Daphnia.

The fleas have homes to.
Besides livings on living breathing hosts they have other homes as well. Even those home are completely temporary because they can only last 155 days without and blood from a host in healthy environment conditions. Fleas can live anywhere to your clothes and in your furniture. Fleas are actually quite picky where they choose to live because in 75.2 degrees farienhiet a flea can only last 15 days. And lasted 70 days in cool saturated air.

Everyone has a family!
Did you know fleas have families too? Well actually a small family of fleas are called hectopsyllidae. But just like you have cousins fleas kind of have the same thing like a flea's cousins would be: mites, ticks, bedbugs, and lice. Are all in the same families.
