skeletal system consists of 206 bones, as well as a network of tendons, ligaments and cartilage that connects them. The skeletal system performs vital functions support, movement, protection, blood cell production, calcium storage and endocrine regulation. The skeletal system's primary function is to form a solid framework that supports and protects the body's organs and anchors the skeletal muscles.

Homostasis
a process which causes bleeding to stop
orthopedic
relating to the branch of medicine dealing with the correction of deformities of bones or muscles.
Integumentary system
Skin,hair,and nails

Protects from germs
Maintain a healthful body temperature
Removes waste from the body
Holds organs in your body
Prevent dehydration
Produces vitamin D
Arthrites

dermatologist
docters who take care of your skin
Ch.2 skelatal system

Osteoporosis

orthopedists- someone dealing with the correction of deformities of bones or muscles.
The skeletal system helps maintain homeostasis by producing new red blood cells as the old one dies off.
Calcitriol regulates the levels of calcium and phosphorus in the blood and helps maintain a healthy skeletal system
Myotonia

Orthopedists-someone dealing with the correction of deformities of bones or muscles.
The muscular system interacts with all the other systems of the human body in ways that promote and maintain homeostasis
when cold smooth muscle in the blood vessels supplying skin constrict, reducing the amount of blood near the body's surface. Thus the body's core conserves heat.
parts and functions
- smooth mucsle Functions:
- skelatal mucsle allows movment
- flexor enables volentary and
- Extensor involentary
- cardiac mucsle
Ch 3: Muscular system

The digestive system

Parts:
Mouth- breaks down food into smaller pieces and mixes it with saliva
Esophagus- A tube which food travels from the mouth to the stomach
Liver-produces bile and prossesses nutriences odtained from food
Stomach- secreates jucies that get digestion under way
Pancreas-secreates enzymes into the small intestine
Gall blatter-stores bile
Small intestine- the main site where food is digested
large intestine- absorbs water from digestion wast
Rectum- stores wast untill it leaves the body through anus
anus-the opening at the end of the body which wast leaves the system
Heartburn

gastroenterologist-is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders.
homeostasis-Body systems- circulatory and digestive work together in order to maintain homeostasis in our body. Circulatory system works with all other body systems. Because it delivers blood to all of the body parts.
Fun fact
Muscles contract in waves to move food down the esophagus
congestive heart failure-a weakness of the heart that leads to a buildup of fluid in the lungs and surrounding body tissues.

Circulatory system

parts:
heart-a hollow muscular organ that pumps the blood through the circulatory system
blood vessles-a tubular structure carrying blood through the tissues and organs
blood-the red liquid that circulates in the arteries and veins
Parts & functions
Cardiologist-a doctor who specializes in the study or treatment of heart diseases and heart abnormalities.
homeostasis-The Circulatory System delivers oxygen and nutrients in the blood to the surrounding cells to maintain Homeostasis
The digestive system works very closely with the circulatory system to get the absorbed nutrients distributed through your body
Fun Fact
About 8 million blood cells die in the human body every second, and the same number are born each second.
Parts & Functions:
Urethra-the duct by which urine is conveyed out of the body from the bladder,
Bladder-a membranous sac in humans and other animals, in which urine is collected for excretion.
ureter-the duct by which urine passes from the kidney to the bladder
Urine-a watery, typically yellowish fluid stored in the bladder and goes out through the urethra.
Kidney-each of a pair of organs in the abdominal cavity
renal artery/veins-two branches of the abdominal aorta of which each supplies one of the kidneys.
Uremia

Urologist- a doctor who specializes in the study or treatment of the function and disorders of the urinary system
Excretory system

Respirtory system

parts and funtions
Nasal Cavity- where air first enters, filters the air, mostins the air,and heats it
Cilia-nose hairs
Larynx- contains tissue known as vocal cords
Epiglottis- flap that covers the entrance into the lungs
Trachea- tube where air enters the lungs
Bronchioles-small passageways or tubes
Alveoli-tiny air sacs
Capillaries-where is exchanged
Diaphragm- controls breathing
Pneumonia

respiratory therapist-is a specialized healthcare practitioner trained in pulmonary medicine in order to work therapeutically with people suffering from pulmonary disease
The circulatory and respiratory systems work together to circulate blood and oxygen throughout the body. Air moves in and out of the lungs through the trachea, bronchi, and bronchioles. Blood moves in and out of the lungs through the pulmonary arteries and veins that connect to the heart to maintain homeostasis
Fun Fact-The highest recorded "sneeze speed" is 165 km per hour.
Immune system
