This book is dedicated to my own pet parrot, Cheeks.

Once upon a time, not too long ago, there was a rainforest in a far away land. This rainforest was populated by some of the world’s smartest animals; parrots! Parrots of all different shapes, colors, and sizes lived in the grand rainforest.

These amazing birds lived, worked, and played in their rainforest, just like you and me. These parrots lived peaceful, happy lives full of accomplishment and fun.

If you know one thing about parrots, you would know that parrots love to talk! They are the of the chattiest birds around! However, one parrot was the the most talkative of all of the parrots. This particular parrot’s name was Henry and he loved to talk!

I love to talk!
Henry talked about this, Henry talked about that, Henry talked anything and everything! Henry talked about anything that popped into his mind at the moment. In fact, he could not stop talking! This sometimes landed Henry in trouble.

I LOVE talking! It's my favorite thing to do!
You talk so much, Henry.
One day while on his way to his favorite fruit tree, Henry spotted his friend Pico at the creek. Pico looked a little upset as he was trying very hard to clean off his feet. Henry flew down to his friend and said, “Hey there Pico! How are you doing today?”

Pico looked up from his feet in the cold creek and said “Hey there, Henry. I’m not doing so swell today. Say, can you keep a secret?”
Henry then eagery stated, “Sure thing, pal. So what is it?”
Pico, not wanting to alert to other parrots then quietly said to Henry, “When I was picking berries from the bush near my nest, a big, juicy berry fell onto my feet and turned them all pink and sticky! That’s why I’m trying to wash the berry off my feet before all the other birds notice!”

My feet are all pink and sticky!
Henry laughed very loudly, making all of the other bird notice him and then loudly squawked, “HA HA HA HA! A BIG BERRY FELL ON YOUR FEET, PICO! PICO HAS PINK FEET! PICO HAS PINK FEET! HOW SILLY!

HA HA HA! How silly!

All of the other birds turned towards the direction of Pico and looked right at his funny looking purple feet in the creek. All of the parrots and Henry laughed loudly, however Pico was not laughing. Poor Pico was so embarrassed, Pico flew away with a tear in his eye. Henry then flew off too, not realizing how sad he made Pico. He then made his way over to the fruit tree.

HA HA HA!
This is so
embarrassing.
