The United Kingdom (the UK) includs Great Brtain and Northern Irlande. The UK is surrounded by a lot of water: to the northeast is the North Sea; the Atlantic Ocean in to the northwest; and the Strait of Dover and the English Channel are to the south of this group of islands. The Strait of Dover is the narrowest part of the English Channel, and it is 32 km wide.
