Hi, my name is Stanley, and
I'm a STARFISH!

This is the story of how Stanley the Starfish
found that he was a starfish.

I'm Puddles
I'm Stanley

2 years ago, in Bikini Bottom, Stanley met Puddles
the Penguin for the very first time. Stanley woke
up under seashells that morning, and he was
walking through the coral field, when he came
across a penguin catching fish. The penguin turned
around, and introduced himself as Puddles, and told
him that he was a penguin. But, Stanley didn’t know
what to say, so he said that he was Stanley, and
that he was a penguin also. But Puddles was not so
sure, but he didn’t bother to ask Stanley, so
Stanley went along with it.

I'm Flounder
Stanley and Puddles became good friends, and after
catching some fish, Puddles invited Stanley to his house.
So, when Puddles and Stanley were walking through the
streets of Bikini Bottom, Stanley saw so many different
kind of things. He saw a huge red thing with giant arms,
and small little blue, green, orange things that were
swimming, and green stuff growing from the ground, and
many other weird things, but he never saw anything that
looked like him, and Stanley felt really lost. He didn’t
know what to do, so when Flounder introduced himself to
Stanley that he was a fish, Stanley also said that he was
a fish because he didn’t want the others to think that he
was weird.

When Stanley left, Puddles and Flounder decided
to help Stanley, by helping him figure out what he
really is. In order to help Stanley, Puddles and
Flounder first went to visit Stanley to get more
information about him, so it would be easier for
them to find his family. When they found Stanley,
Puddles wrote down every single thing that he saw,
like how Stanley was red, and that he has 5 arms,
stuff like that.

Library

Then they went to the library to do some research
about the different types of things that are in
Bikini Bottom. They typed in all of Stanley’s stuff
and they found out that Stanley is a Starfish.
They also found so much more stuff. Stuff like,
that Stanley belongs to the Animalia kingdom, and
that his Phylum is Echinodermata, and his cool
name was Asterias Forbesii. Then they found out
at that he has a lot of family, like he’s related to
Sea Urchin’s, Sand Dollar’s and Sea Cucumber’s.

I'm your aunt
I'm your uncle

After finding out all of this cool information about
Stanley, they decided to call Stanley’s family members.
After a few days, Stanley’s Aunt and Uncle visited
Stanley. They told him even more cool stuff about
Starfishes. They told him about things they have that
help them survive, or their adaptations, like, how they
can blend in with coral, when one of their arms get cut
off, they can still grow them back, and how they have
very good balance and vision. They also told Stanley
about their role in their environment, which is that
they’re second order consumers or that they eat other
animals like clams and oysters.

We live in.....

The next thing they told him were the places
where they can live. They told him about how they
can live in any place in the world, but they like to
live in rocky places, and on coral reefs. They are
really common in the bottom of the sea, or in small
caves.
