There was a very lonely sea turtle names Tony. He was a very serious 

turtle and was normal by himself, since he was not very good at making 

friends. 

But on this unusual day, his best friend Marvin the sea horse, came over 

to his house in the coral reef. Marvin suggested that they go on an 

adventure. Tony did not want to go, but he agreed to because Marvin was 

his best friend. 

So Marvin and Tony headed out of his house and swam deeper into the 

Pacific ocean. 

They soon meet a whale named Seth. Marvin and Seth began to talk and 

they were having such a good time, that they did not realize they had 

been talking for hours. Tony soon got bored and swam off, leaving 

Marvin and Seth to talk. 

As Tony swam away he noticed something very shiny in the water. He 

swam over and saw something that looked like a lamp. And he wondered 

what it was. 

He began to shake it, and out popped a genie. Tony was shocked, he 

had never seen anything like that before. But before Tony could say 

anything the mermaid said, "Who are you and why have you disturbed 

me?". 

Still shocked Tony said, "I am Tony, a sea turtle, I belong in the 

kingdom Animalia and phylum Chordata . But people like to call me 

Testudines because that is my scientific name." The mermaid then asked 

about his family and where he lived.

Tony told the mermaid that his dad was a leatherback turtle, his mom 

was a hawksbill, his sister was a loggerhead, and his brother was a 

flatback. And that he had many cousins that looked very similar to him. 

He also told the mermaid that he liked living in warm waters because 

they are cold-blooded. 

Finally the mermaid told Tony for every interesting you tell me about 

yourself I will grant you a wish. Tony was very excited about this and 

told the genie that sea turtles have no teeth. This made Tony think 

abot how hungry he was. And he wished for a supply of shrimp, because 

he loved eating shrimp, it was on of his favorites.
