Long ago on the bank of the Vistula River there lived Wars, the fisherman. One day he went to the river to cast his net. Suddenly, he heard a beautiful voice. It was a very beautifiul girl singing. Wars got in the boat and rowed to look for that girl.

Hardly did he left the river bank when a terrible storm started.

„We will break the paddles” – shouted the lightning.

„We will tear the net” – roared the wind.

„We will sink your boat” – threatened the waves.

Wars was rowing so fast the neither the the lightning nor the wind and waves could catch up with him.
