This is dedicated to all the mothers who have lost a child to gang violence.

It was a cold and stormy night in Riverdale when Stevie and his mom finally settled into their new two bedroom Chicago home. By the looks of the new home Stevie and his mom could tell it had been vacant for years.
Stevie's mom Regina was a short 4'9, caramel skin woman, with jet black finger waves. She was the sweetest lady you could ever meet. Regina was a single parent with only one income. Living off food stamps, and barely making it pay check to pay check.
She was a waitress at a family owned restaurant a couple blocks from the house making only $2.65 an hour. Working only night shifts because Stevie needed the car for school. But these were just some of the misfortunes that he and his mom had to go through. With Stevie having to deal with the issues his ma had to face it began to make him desperate to make ends meet.
Stevie was going into his freshman year of high school, with a good head on his shoulders. Eager to make honor roll to make his mom proud. Stevie has always been a straight A student but every since his mom filled for bankruptcy he really hasn't been the same.
He started sneaking drugs into the house and staying out past curfew with girls from school. Stevie was a pretty boy, he had a low cut with waves so deep you could almost swim in them. Just like his ma he was the most charming boy you could ever meet. Girls at his school were all over him already because of his pretty green eyes, he just couldn't say no.
But his bad decisions and mistakes didn't end there. Stevie was in the hallway after first period when he over heard a group of boys talking about hitting a lick on the local drug dealers. They talked about how much money they were going to come up on.
"Hundreds man", said one of the guys. Stevie couldn't help but to but in and tell them he wanted in. "I need that extra cash'" whispered Stevie. The three boys turned and looked Stevie up and down and grin at each other, and welcomed him in. Little did Stevie know they were all part of the same gang were setting him up.
"We are going to meet up at my house after school" said Troy.
"Can I just ride with you I can't go home first my mom wont let me back out the house" Stevie replied. With him being a freshman he didn't have a lot of leeway.
"I guess that's alright bro".
Seven o'clock rolled around and they had been scoping the guys place out and finally got out the car and made their move. They went around to the back of the house and made Stevie kick the basement window in and followed him through the busted window.

"You go ahead Stevie we will be the look out" said Troy. He then began to rummage through the drug dealers mattress and closet looking for the money and drugs. "Where do people keep their weed?"
"Look under the bed" replied Marcus. "Alright thanks bro" whispered Stevie. Troy smacked Marcus in the back of the head "really dude, now he knows" mumbled Troy.
