" I beg of you, let me go" pleaded the old man.His head sunk low, on his knees, tears running down his bearded chin. Normally, Zira would've loved this sight. It would've made her feel empowered, invincible, evil.Everything a witch is supposed to be.Something different happened this time.A warm feeling in her belly twisted and reached up to her throat. For some reason she couldn't hurt this man.
The man raised his head to see a confused expression on the sharp features of the intimidatingly beautiful witch. She looked around the foggy forest, eyebrows furrowed, big large brown eyes in bewilderment." I-um..go away"Zira demanded. The old man paused. He couldn't believe the wicked witch of the Godega forest was sparing his life. He scurried from the eerie woods before the witch could change her mind.
Zira ran as fast as she could. Her long black dress flowing in the wind. Her fiery, red, cloud-like curls bouncing with her. She didn't understand what was happening, her head started spinning. She ran so fast she started to run into trees and trip over twigs. She was not like her self.
She arrived on the wooden porch of her cottage in the lonesome woods. She immediately rushed to the black pot in the middle of the messy room. Green smoke exuded from the pot, the smell of sulfur filled her senses as she chanted the spell. She didn't feel the usual rush when chanting .The latin flew from her lips effortlessly."Kalthazar" Zira asked.
A deep voice came from the pot,"What shall I do for you,Zira" Kalthazar asked."Somethings wrong, I think I've been cursed."Zira said frantically."Why would you think that"Zalthazar questioned."I-I" Zira stammered. She looked down, worried. She was too ashamed to admit what happened."I let a human go"Zira answered."oh dear" Zalthazar said as he exhaled."You have your humanity back"Zalthazar said."What"Zira managed to blurt out.
"It's what happens when a witch becomes too evil"Zalthazar explained. Zira didn't hear any of it.Memories of her horrific acts flooded her memory.Tears ran down her brown, freckled cheeks. She fell to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably. The feeling suddenly took over. There wasn't anything she could do. She grabbed a spell book, looking for anything,a way out."I'm sorry Zira, this is your fate"Zalthazar said. She let the spell book fall from her hands."So this is what the humans mean by karma." said Zira.
