The profession of icebergs existed until the 1960s. The iceberg sold the ice in the neighborhoods because at the time there were no electric refrigerators for the maintenance of food.
Milkman was a traditional profession which we meet of the traveler until the beginning of the 20th century. He worked mainly in large urban centers. His job was to distribute milk and other dairy products in the homes. The means of transport used was the donkey, later a trolley was added and finally used a bicycle or a motorized two-wheeled vehicle.
Bootblack - Shoeshiner - Λούστρος



In the 50s and 60s the profession of glaze blooming in public places and crowded hangouts. Usually the glaze had a specific working space. The black or dark leather shoe was status for men and always had to be polished and pointing to the eye. Especially at a time when the shoes get dirty easily and gathering dust from the dirt roads as the asphalt roads did not exist. The customer stretched his foot in the brass base
from the chest and everything else was taken over by the glaze.

The profession was humble by nature, the shoeshiner often not looked up to the customer, as long as his job lasted unless he needed to tell him something.

In Madrid, this occupation was very popular. They used to wear wafer in a basket and a roulette. You had to pay to spin the roulette and depending on where
the roulette needle
was pointing,
you got one, two,
three or more wafers.
It was funny.
The wafer seller or the wafer man.




In Spain, they used to go on their bikes to sharper knives and scissors with a special stone they had on the bike. They used to play the harmonica to attract the attention of people and neighbours.


Spanish serenes , from 1750 to 1950 used to go on their bikes to light the streetlights and look out the streets.


I am a Serene, I ride my bike to turn on the streetlights.
And I look out the streets
at nights.
