Dedicated to my buddy, Bryce, Remember, always try new things and never give up!
Your partner,
Jason

Hey I’m Jackie, I am going shopping today! To celebrate, I’ll be talking to you about car parts with the help of my mechanic friend, Joe and my “buddies” at Autozone who all helped me find the parts I might need for my old Bugatti. The A-B-C's list sure helped me with my broken down car, and I’m sure it will help with my next car. By the way, what kind of car would you like to have?

Sorry, I didn't see you there. Hang on let me pull up here...shall we get the move on? ;)
A is for axles

Why do you go to Autozone? You can buy auto parts at Autozone.
(I buy axles at Autozone for my car.)
Axle-ent?????!!!!!!!!!!???

Bumpers keep you safe in your car. Please don’t bump my bumpers.
B is for bumper(s)

The catalytic converter gets rid of toxins in the car itself. My mechanic says that I need a new catalytic converter.
C is for catalytic converter
D is for dipstick
The dipstick is important for checking the oil level. If the oil level gets too low, the engine might burn up. Speaking of engines, you should check out the next page.

E is for engine
The engine in a car keeps the car moving. Do you think all engines are built the same? Seriously??
You need a four-wheel-drive vehicle for going off-road, like in the mountains or at the beach. It’s also helpful in the snow.
F is for four-wheel-drive

G is for gears
There are several gears in an automatic car: D,R,N,1,2. In a standard car the gears are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & R.

H is for hybrid

A hybrid car is a car that runs on both gas and electricity. You get better gas mileage and you help save the Earth.

I is for instrument panel
Your car’s instrument panel will let you know when your car is having trouble.
Is it a flat tire? An engine failure? ARE WE OUT OF GAS????!!!!!!!! OH NO!!!
J is for jack

"Yo! Jack-ee, Where’s my jack?”
If there’s a flat tire, check the back.
If it’s in the trunk,
Look under the junk,
For the spare tire and jack.
K is for key

Hey Key, start the car,” said the catalytic converter.

L is for lug nuts / lug bolts
The lug nuts hold the wheels on my old Bugatti, and these old lugs hold the wheels on tight! I'm no lug when it comes to my car.
M is for miles per gallon (MPG)
My Old Bugatti gets 10 MPG-Good Grief! Paul Nygard told me his hybrid gets 40 MPG. He says it saves him money and cuts down on smog. Miles per gallon is how many miles you can
travel on a gallon of gas.

N is for navigation system
Sometimes we can take a wrong turn on the road and get lost. Noooooo fun! Thanks to my handy dandy navigation system that doesn't happen. It shows me the way.

O is for odometer

I don’t care how many miles are on the odometer as long as my old car gets me from point A to point B (or Grammy’s house to the Comic Book Store). It counts the miles you've
traveled.

P is for power steering

Cars long ago didn’t have power steering, and you had to be really strong to turn the steering wheel. Now, all cars come with power steering, which makes it so much easier to turn the car. Don’t let the power steering fail or you’ll need arms like a gorilla!!
