BABA DOCHIA
In the first part of the month are the days of the Babes (the days of Marta or Dochia) and there are a lot of stories about these days, illustrating the struggle between winter and spring, between darkness and light. March is also called the Germantar, the nature beginning to get life and color. The legend says that when the spring of spring began to troubleshoot the calm of nature, the sun - so full of winter - tried to flee to the south to the heat. And in order to escape the gate of heaven, he put a curse on the nine horses of his cage, knowing that they are worse than the devil, and that the horses will blow their souls out of them. So the wind of the Gate of Heaven, where her keeper, Sân Toader, frozen by the cold of winter, noticed too late what had happened.

He fled, he fled into the stables of the sky, took nine mighty streets, put nine dwellings to keep them behind, and set out in pursuit of the sun. They have been searching for eight days, but they have lost their trace - for the babbling, damn, the hands of the horses shaking the sky, letting fall on the ground snow and blizzard - ruin, not another, and the more mild and quieter, they could put up with them ... On the ninth day, however, the old Alexe traced it, and, along with the other estates, they began to catch him to force him to go on his heavenly path left by God. And on the day when they found the Sun, the earth and its creatures awoke to life. And that's why, since Baba Dochia's most terrible day, there are nine days to San Toader and San Toader - nine days to Alexe - the man of God and Alexe - nine days to Bunavestire.

Legenda Mărţişorului:
Tânărul care s-a jertfit pentru a readuce Soarele
The legend of the martisor:
The young man who sacrificed himself to bring the Sun back

Mărţişorul
- symbol of spring, return to life -
At first, it was represented by a coin, then turned into small river stones painted in white and red, lined up on a thread.
Once, the Sun descended to a village, to the mountain, taking the image of a son. A kite stalked him and kidnapped him from the people, seizing him in a dungeon. The world was upset. The birds were no longer singing, the springs were no longer flowing, and the children laughed. No one dared to face the kite, but one day a young man decided to go to save the sun. Many of the earthlings led him and gave him their power to help him overcome the kite and release the Sun. His journey lasted three seasons: summer, autumn and winter. He found the kite's castle and started fighting. They faced whole days until the kite was shot down.
