The Book “Me Talk Pretty one Day” was written by David Sedaris. He wrote this book to mock things that had happened to him during his life. He jokingly tells about his life events. He started the book with his child hood.

A child who is growing up in a small community in North Carolina in desperate need of speech therapy classes. He developed a speech problem at an early age and needed to go through several different speech classes.

He joked about the several speech problems that he had in his childhood. He had problems with a strong lisp but also was discouraged by his voice and the structure of it. His voice was girlish and high-pitched; he said, “I constantly sounded like I was excited.”

After childhood, he started trying to make himself cool in a new way, so he took up guitar lessons. His guitar teacher was a midget in which he thought it was the funniest thing to have happened.

Later, through the book and through his life, he started taking writing courses at college. He talked about how illiterate his college professor was but hews deeply passionate about writing.He described his teacher as “Clearly unqualified.” The teacher was from Chicago where he took his classes but later transferred to a school in New York where the teachers were qualified to be a writing teacher.

From there his writing career took off. He began writing a book called “Me Talk Pretty One Day.” While doing so he traveled the world and took adventures to different countries. He talks about how crazy his life was and the dramatic events that have happened in his life as well.    

I believe that you should read “Me Talk Pretty One Day” because it is a hysterically funny book about one’s mishaps in life. Very unusual events that had happened in the author David Sedaris’s life.

He then talks about traveling the world and all the crazy events that happened on each continent that he visited. In each country that he visited, a crazy and wild event happened. He sees his childhood in Africa and many crazy things in Asia.
