I Am Poem
I am who i am
I wonder if other people want to know who i am
I hear them trying to figure me out I dream to be someone
I see people being friendly towards me I try to be someone people like
I want them to just understand me I hope to be the one i want to be
I am who i want to be I am me
I pretend to be someone im not
I feel different
I worry about who ill become
I cry never
I am who ill be
I understand why people change
I wrote this poem based on my ideals and how I look at myself, but I wrote it this way because this is how I feel when people don't understand why I´m the way I am. There is no background information on this so you really just have to understand it.
Bio Poem: My Story
Jonathan,
Strong, brave, funny, caring
Uncle of Mateo, Angel, Alan
Lover of music, basketball, shoes
Who feels tired at practice, bored at home, thankful for food
Who needs no school, solitude, nuggets
Who gives time, feelings, attention
Who fears a bad spurs team, needles, my mom
Who would like to see Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan
Resident of the hundreds
Acevedo
I wrote this Poem the way I did because this is my style. Also because it was nice and easy to write it like this. I didn't use many poetic devices because I don't really like poetry, but I want a good grade, so I just wrote it. There's no Background information you need to know; it's just my story.
Re-Creation Poem: December
The cold december night
I hear my steps in the frost crackling.
My eyes see the orange light
With all the fog i can’t see my house
I went to the drugstore for chocolate goods
My jacket is heavy on my shoulders.
I can see the breath from my mouth.
The gray cars are invisible
I stand in the porch light.
I think about how i hate poems.
Select words are from Gary Soto's "Orange"
I wrote this Poetic using devices that I have forgotten about I thinks its a bit of personification and some other thing, but I forgot. I wrote is this way because I really like a cold December. What you need to know to understand this poem is basically that, I like cold weather chocolate and to think.
Stylistic Imitation Poem: The shot heard around the world
Men in a straight line The unprepared men ready for battle
The fight against the tyranny In April 19 1775
In April 19 1775 The fight against the tyrant
The beginning of something big In April 19 1775
In April 19 1775 A battle that will lead to a worldly message
The redcoats against the blues In April 19 1775
In April 19 1775 A moment that will go down in history
The experts against the newbies In April 19 1775
In April 19 1775 A shot heard around the world
Swords and cannons ready for battle In April 19 1775
In April 19 1775
I used some personification in this poem. I wrote this the way I did because I like the revolutionary war and the history behind it. To understand this poem really all you need to know is that, the first battle of the revolutionary war was the battle of Lexington and Concord.
Imitation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s style in his poem “Llanto por Ignacio Sanchez Mejias''
Definition Poem: Solitary
Solitary /sälterē/, Adjective, done or existing alone;
The adornment sits alone in the counter,
im as lonely as a tree in the middle of the desert,
the lone wolf finds it hard to survive by himself,
Even with a billion friends if any of them aren't real it would be the same as having none,
When i go to my room the only things that greets me is the silence in it and the smell of unwashed sheets,
Like green day said i walk I lonely road,
When my least favorite family comes over i go to my room,
When my partner dies on fortnite
When my family leaves me and they go eat
This was the only word I could think of in my mind at the time, and this was the result. There are some poetic devices in here, but I forgot the name of them so have fun finding them. I wish it could rhyme a little but I couldn't. There's really nothing you need to know to understand it.
Limerick Poem: City of stars
In the city of stars
There’s a lot of flying cars
And a brand new home
For everyone
And even life on Mars
