This poetry anthology is dedicated to everyone who gave me the strength to become who I am today. Thank you to my family and friends for sticking with me through thick and thin. Showing me there is more laughter in school than there is work. Thank you to my teachers for not only teaching me educational values but also life lessons and how to work well with others.

Real
I am curious and a student
I wonder about my future
I hear my mom saying " Do your Best"
I see a frightening test
I want to cry like a river
I am putting myself to the test
I pretend to understand
I feel pressure to Ace
I worry I'm just a dead flower
I cry for help
I am stressed to find time
I understand the concept
I say all I need is a dime
I dream to be strong
I try to be beautiful
I hope to fulfill my life with love
I am humble and kind
Real
This poem is explaining my struggle with school. I've always had trouble focusing and getting on task. Dyslexia is something I struggle with but do not use is as an excuse. The poetic devices I use are end rhyme , personification and simile.
Yours Truly
The poem title gives it away what it is about but it is about me. My life is a constant triangle of love, fear and laughter. Being forced to grow up fast is a blessing and a curse. Some people say I'm too mature for my age but that just how i was raised. In this poem I used mostly imagery.
Kathrine
Caring, Joyful, stressed, lonely
Student of Rose, Bachmann and Stanley
Lover of Libi, Chip and Parents
Who feels desearted, pain and tense
Who needs Grandma, water-polo and family
Yours Truly
Who gives care, time and effort
Who fears love, heights and set-back
Who would like to see happiness, Achievements and cousins

Grey Eyes
Fog covering the Barn Breathing the crispness of the air
The cold rain on my coat
Wind hissing past
Peeling the saddle on
My hand touching his shoulder
Talking without saying a word
I see his smile as I open the barn door
Hearing the tiny bells from my boots
Seeing his grey eyes meet mine
Cost of a dime but worth much more
Select words are from Gary Soto's poem "Oranges"
Grey Eyes
This poem is based on one of my favorite shows Heartland. While writing it I was binge watching my favorite season. The inspired words were a little difficult to come by because I had to manipulate them into fitting my theme. The poetic devise I use was imagery.
The Grand Opening
The inspiration of this poem was because me and my friend Tyler took a Disney trip. Disneyland is not my favorite place in the world but it is one of them. At Disneyland I can take a break from my constant reality checks and act my age. The poetic devices I used were end rhyme and imagery.
The Grand Opening
At 2:30 in the afternoon
It was exactly 2:30 in the afternoon
The gates would open
At 2:30 in the afternoon
Photographs would be taken
At 2:30 in the afternoon
Smiles like the cheshire cat
At 2:30 in the afternoon
1955 dress hat
At 2:30 in the afternoon
Dreams finally coming true
At 2:30 in the afternoon
Happiest place on earth was open
At 2:30 in the afternoon
A mouse was the famous face
At 2:30 in the afternoon
Winds carry sweet scents
At 2:30 in the afternoon
Disneyland’s gates were open
At 2:30 in the afternoon
Libbi
Dogs: , noun, plural Dogs,
A domesticated carnivorous mammal
Common to a wolf
Known as playful
Not one bit grim
Scratches on the belly
Can sometimes be smelly
Trained like soldiers
We hold so dear
Love your dog because they will always be near
Libbi
I dedicate this poem to dog because she is amazing and spoiled rotten. Libbi is a pure dachshund with attitude. She's a great cuddle buddy but barks a lot. Her real name is Liberty because she was born on July 4th. The poetic devices I used was end rhyme, personification and simile.
Supposed to be
The poem has a little more meaning than the other because my mom is the man in poem. There's a story behind every smile and removing someone from her life is the reason she is smiling even brighter. In this poem I use imagery and end rhyme.
