I am poem: the best of me..
I wrote this poem using imagery describing the things I saw or did. For example when I talked about the sunsets and using the word cry. When using these words the readers will get a picture in their head to imagine the scene. This poem was used to describe the shoes in my life and telling a story from my point of views. It explains my highs and my lows.
I am a cheerleader
I wonder why there is so much hate in this world
I hear everyone talking around me
I see the wonderful San Diego sunsets
I want a burrito
I am a gymnast
I pretend to listen to people talk
I feel happy during the summer
I worry about my mom and sister
I cry when I am mad
I worry about my mom and sister
I cry when I am mad
I am excited for spring break
I understand what is going on in math right now
I say ‘bro’ a lot
I dream about my career
I try to be nice to others
I hope to become successful

In this poem I described myself, what I feel, fear, love, etc. I used imagery in this poem as well. I described the sunsets and the image of laughter. This poem helped give the readers, who don't know me, information about me. I chose the maroon background because it went well with the picture i chose of me.
Bio Poem response:
In my re-creation poem i used similes and hyperbole. With the comparison of how our skin felt like fire. As well as the over exaggerated line of "cars flying past us". I wrote this poem the way I did because the words I chose from the original poem screamed out summer time to me so i decided to write about how good summer time is. We used 10 of the words from the original poem and the rest we chose. The words I chose all had to do with summer time.
Re-Creation Poem response
Re- Creation Poem:
Summer time is the best time

The sun burning our skin like fire
Bright skies burning our eyes
Smiling people everywhere you look
Summer time is the best time, life is good
Walking to the drugstore for candy
Cars are flying past us
People are walking their dogs
Who doesn't love summer
Our favorite chocolate ice cream
Bright yellow flowers to brighten these days
What a great time to be alive...
At 7:30 in the afternoon
Sun is gone lights are on
At 7:30 in the afternoon
We are warming up stunts and practicing cheers
At 7:30 in the afternoon
The boys are tackling the other school
At 7:30 in the afternoon
Everyone is as happy as a kid in a candy shop
At 7:30 in the afternoon
Us cheerleaders are cheering loud
At 7:30 in the afternoon
But the crowd is cheering louder
At 7:30 in the afternoon
Stylistics Poem:
Cheer.. At 7:30 in the afternoon.
It's the best time of the year
At 7:30 in the afternoon
For a short time my life revolves around cheer
At 7:30 in the afternoon
They´re at the first and goal
At 7:30 in the afternoon
Touchdown
At 7:30 in the afternoon
The crowd goes wild
At 7:30 in the afternoon
Fall is the best time of the year
At 7:30 in the afternoon
Especially when your life revolves around cheer
At 7:30 in the afternoon
Description for Stylistics Poem:
I wrote the stylistics poem with a few different types of figurative language. The three I used were: similes, hyperbole, and imagery. The setting of my poem is at a football game on the sideline. I used these to describe the feeling of how it is cheering at a varsity football game in front of your school. Its such a fun an experience that I tried to put into words.

Description for Definition Poem:
In this poem I described what the word frighten means to me. Things such as car accidents and crazy hair. The figurative language i used to describe these things were imagery, end rhyme, and onomatopoeia. Using those forms of language helped me give the full affect of what I feared in life. The way I said "sounds of a car crash" if a person has ever heard one they will get an image of the scene in their head.
definition
poem
Frighten: [f-rite-en], verb, plural frightens.,
Make (someone) afraid or anxious
When a scary face pops out in a movie
My hair when I wake up in the morning
Teenagers thoughts throughout the day
Sounds of a car crash as we drive down the freeway
Although clowns are just as scary I give them leeway
When a mother says her kids full name
Seeing a spider crawl down the wall
Hearing my alarm go off in my ear every morning
All the things that frighten a teen
Limerick Poem:
A Girls Love for Food

A burrito will always sound good
If I could always get one I would
The hot sauce is spicy
I hope my drink is icy
I got a burrito and left it on my hood
For my Limerick Poem we had to use a specific format to create this poem. We had to make the last word in line 1,2,5 rhyme. Then we had to make the last word in line 3 and 4 rhyme. I used end rhyme in this poem to describe my love for burritos. For those who don't know i get a burrito about 2-3 times a week, they're my favorite food.
