Chapter I : A surprise for the Cuthberts

Summary:
Brothers Matthew and Marilla lived and worked hard on their farm on Prince Edward Island in Canada. One day they decided to adopt a boy that will help them with the farm work. When Matthew arrived at station saw a little girl waiting for him. He felt sorry and didn't know how to tell her about this mistake.
Next Matthew decided to take her home, they enjoyed all the journey home because the girl talked, and talked, and talked. She told him about herself and about her life.
When Marilla saw her she cried in surprise, she couldn't believe that there was a mistake. Marilla didn't agree that the girl should live whith them, but Matthew convinced her.

Chapter II: At Green Gables

Summary:
Next morning Marilla said that she decided to keep Anne and if she will be a good girl she will going to school after the summer holidays. Every day Anne helped Marilla with work. Anne had a good imagination and she decided to call Marilla her aunt because she never had a family.
Also, Anne wanted to have a friend and Marilla said about Diana, so if she wants to play with her she must be a good girl.
The Cuthberts had a friend Mrs Rachel Lynde that one day when she saw Anne she said that she is a girl with hair as red as carrots.
Anne shouted angrily that she hates Mrs Lunde and was lying on her bad and sobbing loudly. Marilla said that Anne was rude to Mrs Lynde and she must to go to her and apologize. After a while, Anne went and apologized by telling her story. At the end Mrs Lynde said to Marilla that she is right to keep Anne, she's a strange little girl but she likes her.

Chapter III: At Avonlea school

Summary:
School started in September, Anne and Diana went together every day, they were best friends.
At school was a boy, Gilbert Blythe, that one day pulled Anne's red plaits and said "Carrots". Anne was so angry that she said she hated him and hit with a book. Their teacher, Mr Phillips, couldn't have bad children in his school and punished her. Anne stood alone for the rest of the day in front of the class.
Next day, Anne was late at school and stood in front of the class once again. When she went home she told Marilla that she'll never go back to school.
Mrs. Lynde was the one who convinced Anne to go back, because she had ten children to herself and knew all about this. After a few days Anne go to school but she didn't speak to Gilbert Blythe.

Chapter IV: More trouble for Anne

Summary:
On Wednesday the Cuthberts made a tea party. They invited the new vicar Mr Allan and his wife. Anne made a cake and when they tried it Marilla started to cry. The cake was horrible because Anne put in Marilla's medicine. At the end of the tea party everuthing was fine - the guests laughed at Anne's cake and invited her the next day to them, to tea.

Spring came with green leaves and beautiful flowers. Marilla came home late after visiting friends and found Anne sobbing on her bed. She cried because she dyed
