The government only exists to protectthe people and their rights...

Once upon a time, in the country France,
there was a man named John Locke. John told
anyone who would listen his beliefs about the
role of government. His ideas spread from
place to place, and people began to question
the nations Monarchy. Little Piggy liked this
idea, because it meant more political freedom
for himself, and his friends.

Nay!
No!
Less taxes...
Please!
At the time, France was categorized in three
separate social classes. Two of the classes
were made up of Royal and Religious leaders,
and the other the middle and lower classes.
Unfortunately, the royal and religious leaders
usually sided with each other, and therefore
the lower classes were usually persecuted.
Little Piggy didn't like this, because it meant
he could never get his point across.

Kill Her!
No!
Yea!
Soon people grew sick of it, and rebellion spread
throughout the land. Leaders created their own
constitution, kicked out their king, and formed
their own government. Unfortunately, lead by
Robespierre, the new government grew to be
almost as worst as the last one, and chaos
occurred. In the famous "Reign of Terror",
hundreds of people were executed everyday for the
slightest offenses with little proof or reasoning.
Little Piggy didn't like this, because many of his
friends were dying.

Concordat...
Agreed?
Agreed.
Then a young general named Napoleon Bonaparte came
into the picture. Napoleon had great leadership, and his
famous battles were well known. When he saw the
problems going on in Paris, he started a coup against
the government and used his military and political
power to crown himself emperor of France. He soon
provided stability within the region, and allowed
freedoms that people really wanted from the beginning.
He created the Napoleonic Code, and also came into an
agreement with the pope, which re-instilled religion
back into the country. This made Little Piggy very happy,
because this meant him and his family could now go to
church again.
