Day 1 Events
On day one the battle began at 5:30 a.m. The confedrate had 75,000 troops adn the Union had the upper havd with 90,000 troops. afgter the battle ended on the first day 11,000 where either dead or sverly wonded, 29,000 were just wonded, and 10,00 went missing. John F. Reynolds arrived midmorning to support Buford. sooon after his arrivial he was shot in the head and killed. Robert E. Lee arrived mid-afternoon. But by then the Union forces retreated and went up cemetary hill. Lee had ordered R.S Ewell to attack cemetary hill but he hesitated to this gave the Union to call in reaforcements and to set up alltleiry. Then by night fall the Union led commander at Gettysburg, Maj. Gen. George Meade. he then orderd all Union forces to Gettysburg.
Day 2 Events
On day 2 Robert E. Lee had made a plan to have all his Confederates to attack both of the flanks of the Union Line that were at Cemetery Ridge. This attack would lead to a three hour attack that would led him to a win.Confederate killed, wounded and missing during the fighting on July 2 total some 6,500 and the Union had total was around 8,750 this was unusual since usually the defender suffered a lot more causality's then the attacker. Day Two had brought up most of the famous battles.
Day 3 Events
On Day 3 the fighting started around 4 in the morning. It started off with a cannon fire. During the early morning hours Confederate Robert E. Lee ordered General Longstreet to prepare General Pickett's troops for the assault. Only a few hundred Virginians reached the Union line, and within minutes they all were dead, dying, or captured. In less than an hour, more than 7,000 Confederate troops had been killed or wounded. Lee withdrawal the night of July 4th, he then led his army up north and vowed never to attack again.On November 19, 1863, President Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address during the dedication of a new national cemetery at the site of the Battle of Gettysburg.
