Sherman the Shrimp was a sweet little guy who always swam through the day
with his head held high. Because of the clear waters and the lively depths, Sherman
was glad he swam instead of taking steps. With a colorful array of pretty fishes, he
would never ask to live anywhere else in his wishes. The water always seemed like
a perfect place for Sherman to frolic and spend his days. His friends and family all
lived here and he loved to always keep them near. But the water wouldn't always
stay this way. It was effected drastically on one very sad day.

And just like that in the middle of the day, a POOF BAM BOOM came Sherman's way.
Surprised and scared at the same time, Sherman swam to investigate the crime. What
he saw took his breath away and he was left in disarray. Black goop that seemed very
gooey spilled out from a pipe and he heard a man scream "FOOEY". Many people
fled the scene, all that he was witnessing made Sherman scream. "How could you
do this? This is horrible for the ocean! This isn't fair!" but the people didn't hear
Sherman as he shouted into thin air.

The oil didn't stop spilling out that day and Sherman had no clue what to say. Heswam deep into the blue to see what he could possibly do. What he saw only made
his fears grow. What was he to do? He didn't know. A pipe deep down in the sand
poured out oil as fast as it can. Sherman knew this problem would only increase.
He had to notify the other animals at least. He started to swim as fast as he could.
Can the humans try to stop it? He hoped they would.

While swimming to his friends all Sherman could see was a now dreadfullooking sea. Animals everywhere were covered in the gooey like oil. "Oh,
what a beautiful place to spoil!" Now engulfed in both anger and depression,
Sherman wanted to be before a human to get out his aggression. "I would
tell them how I feel and what they've done to my home! Why couldn't they
ruin their place and leave us alone?" Sherman was now frustrated and lost
all his hope, as he swam through the goo he saw Carl the crab starting to
mope. "I lost my wife and my babies. Where could they be? I can't see them
through this now black sea!" Sherman rushed to give Carl the news. As he
started to explain Carl began to turn blue. "What about my family? Don't
the humans know that isn't right?" "Carl I'll help you find them. We won't
lose this fight!"

Sherman took note of Carl's worries, he
wanted to find his family too, so he swam off
in a hurry. Shelly his wife and Sherbert his
kid suggested he cover the pipe with a lid.
"But that isn't possible!" Sherman said, "You
see? The pipe is 100 times larger than me!"
"Have the others help you. I'm sure they'll
agree. I just want this to stop. That's all,
hunny." But Sherman couldn't listen to
Shelly's idea. "I'm gonna need more
suggestions, see ya!" And just like that
Sherman left his home in the tall grasses.
Swimming through the goo felt like bathing
in Molasses.

Wilbur the Whale was swimming close to the floor, "That's not normal," Sherman thought. "Whats this for?" So he swam down to
Wilbur as fast as he could. "Sherman, please help me if you would!"
He was closer now and the sight took its toll. There was a golf ball
lodge in Wilbur's blow hole! "Oh my gosh!" Sherman shrieked, and
with a big strong kick he knocked the golf ball out like a magic trick!
With quite a huge smile Wilbur thanked him a lot. "Ah, Sherman, that
kick really hit the spot!"

Sherman swam to the top of the ocean, all the panic was giving him sickness from the motion. As he looked in the sky something caught his eye. Simon was flying like crazy,
waving his wings about. "Somethings the matter! I have no doubt! Simon, Simon, are
you okay? What caused you to act this way?" "Well little Sherman, it seems that I
consumed what looks to be a thick cloud of fumes. I was flying by like I do everyday,
then came a cloud that was the color of gray. Before I knew it I couldn't breathe, I had
to get out, I had to leave! So I flew out here as fast as I could. I would of died if I hadn't,
that I would!" Simon said all this even though he was out of breath. "Come down here
Simon, before you become near to death!" And Simon flew down and rested on the
shore. "The sea used to be so peaceful. Whats this catastrophe for?" "Well Simon there
was an explosion today. I don't know the details or what else to say." "My God what
are we going to do? We're in trouble, isn't that true?" "Yes we are," Sherman said, and
he finished his sentence with a shake of his head "but we can figure this out. We'll
discover what this is all about!"

A couple days passed, and nothing got better. "I wish I could talk to thehumans, maybe write them a letter?" But Sherman couldn't do it and he
knew that to be true. "Oh, whats a little fella like me to do?" So he swam
by and watched the disaster unfold. "Will this be fixed before I get old?"
But the sad part is this the oil kept flowing. For many days the blackness
in the ocean kept growing. It was months before the humans found a fix
that would work. And by then the ocean was tainted by an endless murk.

Jerry the jelly was one of Sherman's best friends, and because of the oil spill his lifecame to an end. Caught up in a large cloud of black, Jerry's breathing began to go whack.
And on a very dark gloomy day, Jerry's life was taken away. He was just one of many,
and the oil situation didn't get better by any. The humans kept trying their crazy inventions,
the oil increased and so did the tension. Days went by and one creation after another failed
to work like the heart of Sherman's brother. Many animals were severely effected by this,
many were lost..and they will be missed.
