2, 4, 6, 8, this little book I dedicate to all my cheerleaders over the years.
-- Coach Lisa

Gracie dreamed of being a cheerleader, just like her best friend, Emily.
What fun they would have!

Instead of doing her math work, Gracie wrote her mom a note.
Dear Best Mom in the World,
I really, really, really want to be a cheerleader. Can I please? My best friends are all cheerleaders, and you want me to have friends, right?
Love,
your spirited daughter,
Gracie

All day, Gracie daydreamed about being a cheerleader. She couldn't wait for school to get out!

Go Team Go!

Dear Distracted Daughter,
I am not sure if that is such a good idea. Your teacher said today that you have been daydreaming in class.
It is really important for you to focus on your studies, maybe we should look into summer school instead.
Love, Mom
P.S. - You know I want you to have friends, but I also want you to get good grades!

Library Day Today The following students have overdue books:
Emily
Gracie
Sam
Ethan
The next day at school, Gracie had lots of things to read on the blackboard...
...but they didn't really interest her that much.

On the library wall, Gracie saw something that she was very interested in! She couldn't wait to get home and ask her dad.
Dad! Dad! Daaaad!
Gracie! Please! Your dad is still at work. What could possibly be so important?
Sorry, Mom. I just wanted to talk to him about cheer camp.
Gracie's dad had to work late and wasn't home before bedtime. She left him a note on the kitchen counter.

Dear Dad,
Mom said to ask you about cheer camp. I saw a flyer at school and it looks really fun. Can I please go? I promise to do all my chores until then.
Your very responsible daughter,
Gracie
The next morning when she got up, Gracie's dad was already at work, but he had left a note on her backpack.

Dear forgetful daughter,
I know how much you want to go to cheer camp, but I think maybe you need to focus on school. Your teacher called and said you forgot your library book again, and she wants you to go to summer school. Looks like camp is out, kiddo. If only there was a way to do both.
Love, Dad
