My first day at school

(in social studies class!)

It was my first day at a new school in a city I wasn't familiar with at ALL. So uh yeah, I was obviously pretty nervous. I was like alone for the whole day. I wished my best friends were here with me :(. I was basically a nervous wreck.

Finally,I made it to Social Studies.Since it was still the first day,I was shy as heck :(.I sat down at some table,and there she was.Ms. Jones.Hooo boy,I could immediately tell this was going to be a good day.She was so cheerful like,"Hey everyone! My name is Ms. Jones,I will be your social studies teacher for the 2017-2018 school year!".Like,finally,a fun teacher.(no offense to the other teachers).

The first thing we learned were the five oceans and the seven continents. I'll be honest, I never really liked SS that much until I got here in this class :).

Anyways, We were learning about the 5 oceans and the 7 continents. we got to play some kind of game where we had to point out where the oceans and continents were.

The five oceans are: Southern, Indian,Atlantic,Pacific,and Arctic

The seven continents are: Europe,Asia,NA,SA,Australia, Africa, and Antartica.

Next,we learned about the five strands which were called History,culture,government,economics, and geography.

After that was the five themes of geography. Ms. Jones made an acronym for us so we can remember them:

After that, We finally got to learn about a civilization. We learned about an ancient land called Mesopotamia. The land was between two rivers called Euphrates and Tigris,so it was shaped like a crescent.

We got to learn about this one ruler named Hammurabi. He had this "code" which was just a bunch of stricts laws. And when I say I mean strict, I mean really strict. Say that a boy hits his father. The boy would have to get his hands cut off.
