Part 1: Hobbies

I enjoy doing many things outside of school. Most of them I do to get away from everyone and do something I love. Some hobbies I enjoy doing are photography, hunting, camping and making maple syrup. Most of the time my family loves to do these with me. I love to spend time outside doing things I love.

One thing I love to do is hunting. Every year I hunt turkey, deer, partridge and if we get a moose permit we go moose hunting. I have harvested turkeys and partridge before but have not taken a deer or moose yet. Whenever we go, my dad is always the one who takes me out. It's great to get to spend time with him out in the woods.

Another thing I love to do is go camping. We love to just hook on the camper and find a campground to pull into for the weekend. Every year on memorial and Labor day, we go to our friends camp in Byron. All of our friends go and hang for the weekend.

A big part of my life is making our own maple syrup. My dad, our friend Shane and I are the ones who do it all. Our friends stop in all the time. We have around 400-500 taps. It takes a long time for it to boil down to syrup. This year we ended off the season with 41.25 gallons of syrup ready to sell.

Photography is one of my main hobbies. It started off with my brother taking a photography class in college. He bought a camera and brought it home. It looked cool so I figured I would try it, and that’s how it all started. My first camera I got was for my birthday from my parents. I love to take pictures of the outdoors but my favorite is animals. I have been into photography for about only a year now but I have learned a lot.

Part 2: Family Trips

There has been many places we have traveled to since I was born. We have been to Virginia, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. My favorite has been South Carolina and Pennsylvania. To get to all of these places you have to drive through a lot more states. So I have seen more, but we didn't stop and explore in them. It has been amazing to see all these places in just 14 years of my life.
North Maine Woods 2011
In 2011, my brother Colten was drawn for a moose permit. When we go, we always stay in the North Maine Woods in Ashland, Maine at the North Branch Campsite. This was my Great Grandparents favorite place. This year all of the Woods family went for the great moose hunting adventure.
We scouted the weekend before and found some big ones. Then came Monday morning and we were on the hunt for those big ones. Colten got his moose on Thursday night right before legal hunting time ended. We got it on the trailer and tagged it the next day. It was a great week spent with family.

Boston-2012 my brother had to go to Boston so, we made it into a birthday weekend trip for my 9th birthday. We stayed in a hotel near the city but far enough away we weren't in the middle of it. For my first time,we took a subway to the aquarium. We went to the aquarium, walked around and also got to see a 3D movie about whales too. After that, we went to the gift shop. I got a stuffed animal penguin and I named him Popper. For my first time in Boston, it was a fun trip.
2015 was my first time going to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed it enough, we went back the next year. We went go carting, went to the zoo and aquarium and also spent time of the beach. My favorite part of the trip was taking pictures with a tiger and monkey. At the aquarium, we had the chance to touch different crabs and starfish. We also got to go through a conveyor belt and see fish above us.
We spent a day at Gator Land, walking around and saw all kinds of animals. Some of the best moments we had, happened on the beach. We all loved to just walk down the beach look for shells and shark teeth. I ended up finding a lot of both. I hope we get to go back.

In 2016 we went Myrtle Beach. We went on a dolphin cruise, we did see some right by the boat. We also went to Wonderworks, which is an upside house. Inside it is a museum of science with a bunch of different activities to do. Towards the end of the week, we went to play mini golf and of course Colten had to win like he always does.
On the way home we stopped in Hershey, Pennsylvania. We went to the Hershey chocolate park. While we were there, we got the chance to make our own chocolate bars. That is how Colten asked Kaitlyn to their senior prom. Then we finished the drive home, after a great week spent with family.
Part 3: Sports

Along with hobbies, I have tried multiple sports. Some of them are gymnastics, cheering and softball. I did gymnastics for 6-7 years, softball for a season and cheering for 2 years. My favorite of them all was gymnastics.
