This book is dedicated to my mom. She helped me every single day to make the person that I am today.

Bang! The door hit me right in my face as I was walking out the door. I wasn’t looking where I was going. I could just feel my face turning bright red like a tomato. I hope no one saw me run into the door. Well anyways let’s just get more into my story about my first day college.

The day I woke up on the first day of college was the worst day of my life. Last night I could not sleep at all because of the very, very hard bed. The sheets on the bed were rusty and old, and they were really cold. So that morning I got up and told myself that it was going to be a great day. My roommate Jaelyn was up all night with all her friends and wouldn’t be quiet at all, so I got no sleep last night. Also Jaelyn was taking up all of the space in the room. All of her clothes were spread out on the floor. She just kept on throwing her clothes out on the floor and wouldn’t stop asking me what she should wear today. I was just like I don’t care what you wear, just wear something.

I had to shower this morning, but I don’t know if I could. The bathroom’s were so dirty I thought I was going to throw up. There was like all this mold on the ground and on the ceiling, it was so gross. I don’t think I can eat my breakfast anymore. In the sink of the bathroom there was a bunch of gum and toothpaste in the sink. In the toilets there was a lot of bugs, some of the bugs were alive and some weren’t. That morning I decided that I wasn’t going to shower and tell someone to clean up the bathrooms.

The worst part of the morning was getting ready. All of Jaelyn’s friends were in the room and wouldn’t get out of the bathroom so I couldn’t get ready in there. So I decided to go to one of my friends room and get ready. My other friend let me in and let me get ready in there. She asked me if I wanted to switch rooms with someone in her room but I was like it is okay, I will just have to deal with Jaelyn the rest of college and work some things out with her so I can actually get ready and have my own space.

Getting to class was not fun at all. There was no room in the hall to even walk. So I decided to go outside and get to all of my classes. I couldn’t find where I could go, so I saw Jaelyn and asked her but she didn’t know where she was going either. I went back inside and asked for directions there and someone knew where they were going and they told me where to find my class. A lot of other people were asking me where to go and I just said “I am sorry, I don’t know where I am going either.” They were just like okay that is fine. Some other people came up to me and guess who it was, it was my best friend from 5th grade. We talked a little bit but not for long because I was going to be late for class.
