This book is dedicated to my family and friends because they help me with everything and are always there for me.

Have you ever thought about going to college? Well, if not you may change your mind after you hear my story of my first day. It’s probably way different than you imagine. Let me tell you about it.
First off, when you first walk in to your dorm, you see what you don’t want to see. The dorm rooms are small! I mean tiny! It’s basically one room for you to live in. Now living in a tiny room like this is pretty tight, but imagine it with another person. This person would be your roommate. Now let me tell you about my roommate. My roommate's name is Shelby.
She is usually never around when I was in the dorm. She had a different schedule than me. When she didn’t have class, she was off doing something else, probably homework. The only time we really see each other is when it gets late and everyone goes to bed. Now in college, I planned to get up pretty early, but Shelby gets up really early. I mean she gets up at five o'clock a.m.! She has an alarm clock that goes off, so sometimes I wake up to that! I originally planned to get up around six thirty to seven in the morning, but sometimes when I wake up from her alarm I can’t fall asleep. So some mornings I am very tired. When I get up in the mornings it’s usually either still dark out or brightening up. If I get up early I don’t really hear anybody else up. But if I get up around the time I plan, everybodies up! The bathroom is crowded in the mornings! I usually try to hurry up and get out of there.
So when I was done getting ready, I went to my first class. It was Monday and so my first class was at eight thirty. I was walking through the hall and it was crowded. There were people everywhere you looked, and also nobody knew where they were going because it was the first day. I had like ten people ask if I knew where the classroom they were looking for were. I wish I could have helped them, but I didn’t know where anything was either. So I just told them no. But I also asked people where the classroom I was looking for was. Finally, after it seemed like hours, someone was going to the same place I was, and the great part was, they knew where they were going! As I was following this random person, we came across the lunchroom. I could smell the all the breakfast that was there. I wish I had time to eat breakfast, but I was going to be late for my class since it was the first day of college and I was lost.
When I walked into the classroom, the first thing I saw was all the seats I could choose to sit in. All of the desks were cleaned off nice and neat. You could tell the desks were wiped off because I could smell the cleaning smell from the cleaning supplies for what they used. I choose to sit near the middle of the classroom in a place where I could see the board. There was a little organized agenda on the board that told us what we are going to be doing today in class. I saw on the board that we would be taking notes and doing some activities. The agenda also said something about a packet.
