1963-March 21st Alcatraz Closes
1964- Martin Luther King Jr. gets a Nobel Piece Prize
1965- December 5th Joseph Erlanger dies because of a Heart Disease
1969- Transamerica Pyramid construction begins
1971- Cigarette advertisements are banned
Information about the location
Transamerica Pyramid was built in 1969. It is located at 600 Montgomery St,San Fransisco, CA94111. Transamerica Pyramid is the second tallest building in San Fransisco.There are 48 floors,15 passage elevators,3 freight elevators and 3,678 windows. Transamerica Pyramid is covered in white quartz.That is why the color is very white.



Transamerica Pyramid is made out of Five things. They are crushed white quartz,Concrete,Glass and Aluminum which is at the top of Transamerica Pyramid. It is called the Crown Jewel.
What is Transamerica Pyramid made out of?

The Transamerica Pyramid is Earthquake proof up to the magnitude of 7. Once there was a Earthquake that happened and the Transamerica Pyramid shook for over a minute but it did not do any damage.

Designer
The designer of Transamerica Pyramid is William Pereira. He was born on April 25th in Chicago. He is famous because he built many cool things like the Transamerica Pyramid,Geisel Library and the Theme Building.William helped America define the amazing look of the modern . Sadly he died of Cancer at age 76.



Are we allowed to take tours in the Transamerica Pyramid?
No now because of the 9/11 attack the Transamerica Pyramid is not open to the public. There are no tours anymore.They think that something bad will happen to it of they open it into the public.

Does Transamerica Pyramid move with high winds?
Yes the Transamerica Pyramid does move in high winds but it moves way less then other buildings. Some buildings can move 2 feet but Transamerica Pyramid only moves a tiny bit.
