Alice in Wonderland

It was a quiet day, and Alice hated it. She and her sister Kathryn had gone outside to play, but Kathryn decided to read out of her history book. Alice was bored, so she climbed in a tree with her cat Dinah and fell asleep listening to her sisters voice.

When she awoke, Alice was in a strange place. She looked around and called for Kathryn, but she didn't answer. Just then, a white rabbit jumped out of the bushes and said,"I'm late for a very important date!" "Wait!" called Alice. She began to chase him down his rabbit hole.

Alice fell a long way down. When she landed, she saw a door much too small for her. "Drink from the bottle," a voice said. It was the door! Alice tried a bit of the juice in the bottle. She began to shrink and became perfect size to fit in the door. But it was locked! "Try the cookie!" said the door. She took a bite from the cookie and grew very big! She grabbed the key, unlocked the door, and took a drink from the bottle. She shrank and walked through the door.

When she walked through the door, she met twins who introduced themselves as Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. They were very talkative and they told her a long story. She didn't want to be rude, so she listened. After their story, they just kept talking, so Alice slipped away.

Alice found the white rabbit. He looked very worried. "I lost my gloves!" he said. Alice decided to help him and went in his house to look. When she got inside, she smelled hot chocolate! She followed the scent and drank a bit of it. She grew SO enormous that her arms and legs broke all of the windows in the house. The white rabbit was so worried and went to find help. Giant Alice reached for a carrot from his garden and ate it. She shrank immediately. When the white rabbit came back with help, he thought she had gone away. He left to look for the gloves elsewhere. She tried to follow, but she got lost in an odd forest.

Alice saw lots of strange bugs like rocking horse-flies and bread and butter-flies. She met some giant flowers. They could speak! But they all thought Alice was a weed, so they told her to get out of the garden. Alice ran until she saw a whole garden of mushrooms.

On the biggest of the mushrooms, there was a caterpillar. Alice climbed a smaller mushroom to get a better look. "Who are you?" asked the caterpillar. "Alice." replied Alice. " One side of the mushroom will help you grow, the other side will help you shrink. Which side is which?" he said. Alice wondered which side to choose. She broke off a piece from each side and took a bite from one. She grew way too tall. She ate the other, and she was just the right size. She continued until she found a cat.

Alice told the caterpillar thank you and kept walking. She came to a clearing in the forest and she saw a lot of confusing signs. "Hello, cat." Alice said to a cat perched on a tree. "Hello, Alice. I am the Cheshire cat." he responded. Alice was not surprised anymore. "Which way do I go?" asked Alice. He grinned a very large grin. "Follow the blue sign until you reach a little house. You will find a mad hatter." he said. "I don't want to go to anyone mad!" said Alice. "We are all mad here. Now follow the sign." said the cat. Alice decided not to argue, so she followed the sign
