Once upon a time, in the nice state of Wyoming,
there was a town called North Lake. Mussolini von
Gakometti Angelo was beginning his first day in
fourth grade.

Since his parents were cooks, they decided to
nickname him after their favorite midday snack;
Buttermilk. Buttermilk had brown eyes, blond hair,
and a blue tie.

Buttermilk arrived at school ready to make some
friends. At recess he decided to approach a group
of students, also his age. He said, “Hi fellas. My
name is Buttermilk.”

The four kids named Derik, Dan and Lenny were
all jealous of Buttermilk's cool name. They felt
that they must tease and insult the handsome
Buttermilk. They had to make themselves feel
superior.

So the students called Buttermilk mean names. “Pig
face!” Lenny said. The group erupted in laughter.

“Stupid!” another yelled.

"Idiot!" the group started chanting.

Buttermilk felt like nobody liked him. He felt sad.
He did not know what to do. Buttermilk ran home.

When Buttermilk got home, he told his mommy
he was getting bullied. He did not want to go
back to that bad place.

"Now, now, Buttermilk. Why don't you give those
bullies someting nice and sweet so they realize
just how nice you are?" his mommy said.

"But what if they still do not like me?" answered
Buttermilk."
"Now you just add the secret ingredient and they
will be friendly, no matter what."

The next day, Buttermilk arrived at school with his
special surprise. He brought it into show and tell,
feeling great. Finally, the teacher called his name.

Buttermilk walked to the front of the class room.
He said, "I have brought special pancakes for
everyone to eat."

The boys got pancakes, the girls got pancakes, and
even the bullies got pancakes.

Everyone loved them. Buttermilk was as happy as
a kid on Halloween.

After school, the bullies walked to Buttermilk's
house. Buttermilk was playing outside, so Derik
said, "We're sorry we bullied you. We didn't
realize that you were actually a cool person. I
hope you forgive us."

Buttermilk responded, "It's alright, I forgive you."

Then Dan asked, "Your pancakes were really good.
What was the secret ingredient?"
Buttermilk smiled and said, "Buttermilk."
