The Introduction
Three children called Oscar, Scarlett, and Holly lived in a cottage with Their parents. They could not afford much but they but they were happy with what they had. Oscar was 10, he was the oldest. Scarlett had just turned 8 and she was always looking for an adventure. Holly was the youngest, she was 4 and she almost looked exactly the same as Scarlett but her hair was white and Scarlett's hair was long and blonde.
CHAPTER 1
An early visit
One early morning, while they were having a delicious breakfast of hot pancakes with sugar, lemon, and golden syrup, they heard a knock at the door. Mother got up from her seat and opened the squeaky door, she saw a tall, well-dressed man standing on the doormat that said welcome in big letters . He was holding an official black bag in his left hand.
"He doesn't look like he's from the country" Scarlett whisper. After a few minutes Oscar said he heard one of the words.... "I heard a word, i heard a word the word was "bill!".
He said in an excited voice.
He was lucky because he heard an important word but then stopped, "Wait Bill?" I know what bill means, oh no, I hope mother and father don't have to pay a bill, not a big one."
"What's a bill?" Scarlet said in a surprised voice.
"A bill is when you have to pay money that you owe to someone. Mother and father must have to pay money," he said again.
Mother returned and said, "Oscar and Scarlett, I want you to take Holly out to the garden until I call you back. i need to talk to your father okay?"
"Ok", they all said at once. Well they were going outside they were all thinking the same thing "I wonder how much the bill is ?"
CHAPTER 2
In the garden
While they were playing outside they were wondering, What is the man talking with mother about?. What could this bill mean for us. Does it mean they could be poor and have no money and end up on the streets?. Or is it a small matter that they needn't worry about?
The garden they played in was ginormous. Half of the garden was planted with fruit and vegetables and the other half was the play area. Part of the garden where they grew their fruit and vegetables was in rows. Rows of carrots, lettuce, broccoli and beans.
At every corner of the garden grew a large tree and each tree was a different kind. The first tree was an apple tree, the second tree a pear tree, the third a cherry blossom tree and the final a large tree that had low hanging branches that the children could easily climb. That tree was an old oak tree. The children like that one the best as at the back of it was a swing hanging from one of the branches.
To get to their garden, they had to go through a small gate so that Holly couldn't get in or out by herself. There was one more part in the garden this was their favorite part. It was an area filled with long, tall grass. It was a small area but big enough to fit at least 5 children with some space left so this was just perfect for the three of them, and of course that was where they headed for.
"Race you to the long grass!" scar yelled to his sisters. They ran through the garden with Scarlett holding Holly's hand so she didn't fall. They ran past the big oak tree and the red cherry tree. They ran past the swing and past all the vegetables and finally reached their destination. Oscar reached the grass first and turned around with a big grin on his face, as Scarlett and Holly ran up to join him.
Suddenly Holly said in a soft voice, "Can we play tag?"
"We always play tag, but that's okay" Scarlett said to her sister who had pleading eyes. At the same time Scarlett and Holly yelled to Oscar, "You're it!"
