this book is dedicated to all the peasants that wants to get rid of me.
"I'll be a good king this time, just please don't kill me!"
-King Issac of Portugal
*** If it's not too late!!!!***

There was a king. He was King Issac of Portugal. He was the most harsh king that every ruled. Especially during the time of feudalism.

I have no cares in the world for any of these peasants. I am just using these peasants to farm my land and pay taxes to my government. When they don't do their work, they die.

King Issac loved the unlimited government, where the government's power was unlimited. He enjoyed ruling over all and killing anyone who went against his will. There was no one else that had as much power as he did, except for the church leaders, but he ignored the fact that they had the authority to make calls just as he did. Also during this time, was the Silk Road,

The Silk Road was trade routes connecting China and the Far East with the Middle East Africa, and Europe. It influenced cultural interaction and economic growth. The Silk Road got its name from the main product traded, silk. Items that were traded along the Silk Road in Africa was gold, ivory, spices, and frankincense. China traded silk, jade, silver, gold, ivory, and exotic plants and animals. Europe traded guns, paintings, skins, furs, fur animals, bark for skin processing, and cattle. Asia traded silks, gunpowder, jade and spices. Although many peasants that transformed to merchants were involved in the Silk Road, it did not bother King Issac that much. He saw no wrong in them bringing supplies back to Portugal, because it made him even more wealthy.

Of course, King Issac had some friends: the church leaders, lords, ladies, and nobles. They were the only people that he came in contact with. The peasants, he thought, was way out of his league. That was because King Issac and his friends were at the top and the peasants were at the bottom of the feudal system.

Lords

This cruel system was feudalism. Kings and people of high power loved the idea of feudalism. They had all the power and didn't have to work for it. Peasants, on the other hand, had to work from dawn to dusk , barely surviving. This began in the 1300s due to the peasants having no where to stay but on the King's land, and to do so, they have to farm it. Another reason feudalism began was when the Roman Empire collapsed, leaving the government and the king with the power to protect their people.Due to that, serfs lived miserably.

Mommy! I'm hungry

I'm sorry baby. I don't have any food.

Food was scarce.
They worked all day.

Homes were not in a good living condition.

No Heat

No Beds

No Running Water
Some were even homeless.

Over there! I think I see a vacant cabin.
