PREFACE

I chose to write about two young girls that had a strong passion for gymnastics.  In the story they had started gymnastics together at a young age. As they grew older one friend was slightly better than the other but with hard work and dedication the girls were able to overcome their obstacle.  I choose to write about this because I want children to understand that whatever your mind believes it can achieve. Even though the girls felt a little discouraged and sad after getting split up, it just made them work harder to prove that they deserved to be on the same team.  My characters were Callie and Brynley two best friends that loved gymnastics. The images I used was represented Callie, Brynley and the equipment used at their practices each day.

"Hurry up Callie", hollered Callie's mom, "we have to go pick Brynley up for gymnastics." Callie and Brynley loved gymnastics more than anything else.

As Brynley got in the car Callie asked Brynley, "Did you hear the exciting news? Miss Emily asked ME to be on the team!"

Brynley acted excited for Callie but deep down she was a little crushed inside that she did not get asked to be on team as well.

The girls ran into gymnastics practice.

After a few days passed Callie could tell that Brynley was acting differently and being awfully quiet.

Callie finally asked Brynley "Is something wrong?"

"Well I'm sorry that I haven't been playing with you as much. I'm just sad that I did not make team as well. We have been together in every gymnastics class since we were three and I always wanted to compete with you at meets."
