A monocot is a type of flower that only has petals that are in groups of three. A monocots veins are parallel, this means that the two veins are beside eachother but they never touch.

A non-native area is an area where the plant is living but it is not the natural place it should be living in. This would be considered an invasive species.

Osmosis is the movement of water through the cell membrane in the plant. Plants don't drink water, they absorb it through osmosis.
