The most important thing about the Cold War was
the containment of Communism.
The Potsdam Conference was when the leaders of
the U.S.S.R., U.S.A, and Great Britain met to discuss
the division of Germany and the economy. The
United States and Great Britain wanted to revive the
economy, because the rest of Europe's economy
would never recover. While the U.S.S.R. wanted
reparations from Germany, and the U.S.A. was afraid
Germany would fall into Communism out of
desperation, but the most important thing about the
Cold war was the containment of Communism.

The Iron Curtain began the division of Germany.
Which led to the containment of East Germany and
Communism. The U.S.S.R. tried to cut off West
Berlin from the rest of the world so it would fall to

themselves, they created fallout shelters and
stocked them with food and supplies. The U.S. also
had regular duck and cover drills at schools and also
televised in order to add a sense of security for
American citizens. This led to Massive Retaliation
which could lead to Mutually Assured Destruction,

forming between the U.S. and U.S.S.R. because the
U.S.S.R. had more missiles. Cuba also became a
Communist Country and was receiving aid from the
U.S.S.R. This worried many Americans, causing JFK
to give weapons to the members of La Brigada to try
to spark an uprising in Cuba. The Bay of Pigs would
be a failure and would embarrass America. There
would also be the Cuban missile crisis because
Soviet Union was setting up Nuclear Missile
equipment in Cuba but the most important thing

Communism.

The Space Race began when the U.S.S.R. was the
first nation to launch a satellite in outer space. The
space race was to see which nation would be the
first nation to put a human on the moon. Then
President Kennedy went to Texas and was shot by
an assassin. The report from the Warren
Commission led to much speculation on who was
responsible for JFK's assassination, but the most
important thing about the Cold War was the
containment of Communism.
