The King's Royal Proclamation!

Britain owns all of the land in North America, all colonists are forbidden to claim any land east of the mountains!

This is so unfair!

My land, my rules.

King George III ruled England, and told everybody what to do.

Uh oh, Mr. Grenville! I'm out of money! How can I get some more?

I have an idea! We can make paper cost extra!

After fighting a big war, King George needed to find a way to make some extra money. His money adviser told him to steal from America! Do you think he will?

Hi, my name is Flat Stanely, what were you doing with the king?

I'm Geroge Grenville! I'm the King's financial adviser. I make sure the king doesn't run out of money.

It seems like George and the King are making things worse for the colonists. Let's go see what's happening in the colonies!

I overheard that conversation- the King is going to treat the colonists badly, and I'm see what they think of it! I boarded a ship, and I'm on my way.

This must be the King's way to get more money!

THE STAMP ACT:

all colonists must pay more money for all paper! - George Grenville

First we can't get the land we fought for in the big war, and now this!

Now, when the colonists want anything on paper, they are forced to pay an extra amount to King George. This made colonists very angry, because they felt it was unfair. During the war- which was against the French for US land, many of the colonists were soldiers who fought for the king himself

I need more money!

Okay! Now we'll just tax more things, like glass and paint!

The judges and government workers needed more money- so a man named Sir Townshend added even more taxes

Now that it costs more for lead, paint, and glass, the colonists are even angrier! This act was called the Townshend Act, and now the colonists have been protesting a lot more.

My name is Samuel Adams, but you can call me Sam. These Acts are getting out of control!

During my journey, I ran into one of the angry colonists. His money was being taken away, so he planned to protest and get it back.

How do you feel about these British Acts? Are you going to do anything about it?
