Clara is a nice, sweet girl.

Clara loves many things...

sweet jelly-filled doughnuts

swinging at the park

her dog, Peaches

her mom

and her best friend

in the world,

John.

But for every one thing Clara loved, there were five other things she worried about!

She worried so much, even about things that seemed silly to everyone else.

She worried about being too tall

or too small.

She worried about what other people thought of her

or about her dog being lonely while she was at school.

But the thing Clara worried about the most were tests!

She didn't want to let her mom down or make John feel like she was showing off.

Clara worried that she didn't study enough or that she would forget what she already learned.

Today is a Friday, a day Clara normally worries less.

But at the end of the day her teacher told her class some thing that Clara hated hearing...

He said there would be a

TEST

ON

MONDAY!!

When Clara got home she didn't feel like playing with Peaches or talking to her mom or eating!

In fact, Clara's stomach hurt so much!

She couldn't sleep that night.

In the morning Clara went to the park.

John knew every Saturday Clara went to the park. He made a quick stop before to get two jelly-filled doughnuts and made his way to the park.

When he got there Clara was sitting on a swing but not swinging. He ran up to her and gave her a doughnut. John knew something was wrong.

Clara usually loved swinging

and her face usually lit up when she took a bite of a sweet jelly-filled doughnut.

He set down his doughnut and gave Clara a big hug. John asked what was wrong.
