“I can’t go. I won’t go.” Julia was sad and angry.

Her family was moving to a new country and she did not want to go.

“Are you ready to go Jules?” mommy rang out from the next room.

“I don’t want to go.” Julia replied.

Mommy grabbed her in her arms and kissed her on her head. 

“We are going to have so much fun, you’ll see.”

Julia didn’t believe but she was in for a big surprise.

As they arrived at the airport, her eyes swelled with tears.  

“I have to go in that thing? So far up in the air?” Julia thought with dismay.

 “I just can’t.” She concluded as she stared at the airplane. 

“All passengers flying to JFK New York may

begin boarding” was all Julia heard as

they rushed through security to

their boarding gate.

Julia was so nervous but she held her mommy’s hand and walked right up the ramp and into the plane. 

Buckled up and ready to go.

“All passengers please take your seats as the plane takes off.” Julia heard the captain say through the microphone.

As the plane rose into the sky, she looked out her window and waved goodbye to the only home she ever knew. 

“Come look out the window Jules, look at all the lights!” mommy exclaimed.

Julia didn’t know how long they were in the plane but after all her mishaps she was just tired.

When mommy took her to the bathroom, she got stuck on the toilet.

Then, the nice lady in blue gave her juice and it spilled all over her teddy, the food was cold and her chair was uncomfortable.

But hearing mommy’s excitement made her jump up and land on mommy’s lap. She peered out the airplane’s tiny window at the magnificent sight below.

“Oh mommy, look at all those lights!” Julia proclaimed.



 “They are so beautiful. There are so much more lights than back at home.”

Julia was getting excited. She felt like singing and dancing through the entire plane. 

All of a sudden she heard a loud voice saying “all passengers please return to your seats,

buckle your seat belts and prepare

for landing.”

She was so animated, she wondered

what was next to come.
