“Jemima and Venessa, please proceed to the principle’s office immediately” as Jemima heard this through the school microphone, her heart was racing, she knew exactly why she was called out.

“It was reported that you both had a fight on the courtyard at recess, is this. True” said Mr Moseby, Venessa nervously replied yes, she flicked her long dark ginger hair behind her as she refused to accept that the fault was hers.
After a long hour of arguing with Mr. Moseby, both girls got a call home to their parents telling them that they were both suspended for three days due to their behavior. “ I didn't think you would have such attitude Jemima, I am so disappointed in you.” Her mother exclaimed in disgust. Jemima was struck with a gush of guilt.

“ This behavior is not permitted in this family, we are disciplined, do you hear me young lady.” Called aloud her father in shame. Later that day, Venessa’s father, Dr.Dave, had an appointment with a patient. She decided to go with her father seeing as she was bored to death.

Once they arrived at the hospital her father went into the appointment room as Vanessa left off to go to her fathers office nearby. Venessa picked up her fathers shiny blue stapler and fiddled around with it. She unintentionally stapled her pinky finger, her wound oozed of blood onto the shiny clean marble flooring. She fell to the ground cringing in pain, rolling on the floor in the most dreadful way possible.
Before the floor turned into a mess Venessa left the office to go get a bandaid and tissues to wipe the marble. She overheard a conversation in the appointment room as she peeled away the backing of the bandaid. The doctor said “ I am terribly sorry but you have been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, this mean's that you are on a timer now and soon you will be blind”. When Vanessa heard these words, she urged to see who it was. She knew exactly what this eye illness could do, it slowly and painfully takes away your eyesight day by day. There is only one kind of treatment, but terribly expensive. With no self control, Venessa peaked into the room with the corner of her eye she couldn't believe who she saw.

It was Jemima. She couldn't believe her eyes, guilt, sorrow, regret, disgust all thrived at her at once. It was her, the Jemima she has been teasing and bullying for so long, she was shook. A stream of guilt instantly struck her, shaking with panic Vanessa breathed heavily. She ran to the office faster than a wildfire.

Venessa ran home and right into bed thinking about what she’s done. Jemima walked home and crawled into bed thinking about what she could've done.
